Well folks, I finally got round to putting XP on my computer after getting so sick of ME *shudders* crashing every two minutes and finally breaking completely on Saturday (fortunately I'd backed up all 6gig of music). So, now i have a nice, clean, freshly formatted hard disc and this was the first programme I installed.(obviously)
I was wondering though, what other programmes are essential for me to get first? Anyone got any suggestions?

as a start....i made a long list before i formatted....my god, its long :(

- Kazaa Lite (Duh!)

Id reccomend Norton AV and Firewall, they are good and link together well :)

These are my essentials
Regcleaner (freeware) + easycleaner (freeware) for cleaning the registry (also use tweak-xp registry cleaner if on xp) run them all for best results, but they don do it all so use regedit as well if you are brave
zonealarm (freeware) firewall
antivir (freeware) anti virus
ad aware (freeware) removing spyware
Xp antispy (freeware) stop microsoft taking over world
tvtool 6.5 tv out for nvidia cards
ZDELETE windows bleaching program like windows washer but better in my humble opinion it has a bin on the desktop, very useful
scrub-xp (freeware) button on taskbar to reset desktop and clear url history temp internet files etc like a panic button
if you are not purchasing the progs then i would suggest freeware because of the updates essential for antivirus and firewalls

Get Norton Internet Security 2003. It is an antivirus and a firewall combined into one product.
