Yes its inevitable. Every known prophecy is predicting one plus its been over 50 yrs so we are due for one. Just look at China. They're getting stronger by the minute and U.S.A. arent exactly chums with them.

Some would say we're already in World War III, it's the War on Terror. There isn't much of the world that's not affected by it, is there.
Some actually consider the Cold War to have been WWIII. That ended without anyone getting nuked, although there were a couple of occasions when it got a bit too close for comfort.
