for people who say "that is so gay", please increase your vocab. :angry:
why are you americans messing up the english language?
and what the hell is 'U.S English'? <_<

What if it is gay, though? I remember a time when saying one said one was gay it wasn't automatically assumed that they were homosexual. Alas, that time has passed, it seems.

languages evolve, that doesn't have to be negative. I think different versions of one language only adds to the character of that language. In highschool (I live in Belgium), we had the chance to choose between British English and American English. I did both and it was very interesting to see the differences and the way things evolve.... :)

it's not just Americans who say "that is so gay" - there are a lot of wee neds around my area who say it too.

It annoys me, but you can't stop the wee gits from saying it... <_< ...

on the most basic level, u.s. english is a bastardised version of british english. simplified for some reason...can't think what... :P
