(if you wanna know bout it, post a thread in the lounge - mods everywhere....don't wanna be spammin now!)
It works
You can turn the messages off in windows, don't need a program to do it.
ah, can you, N£mo? hows this done? presumably that's what this little program does for you. I got the program, but if its a case of editing a ini or stg daft, id rather do that.
or just a little thing i learned
1) Go to Start, then Run and type in services.msc Click Ok
2) Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.
3)Under startup choose "Disabled", then choose Stop.
4) When stopped, click Ok.
Now the messenger popups are disabled and no need to downlaod anything :D
Yes of course it is  .Quote:

But it isn't recommended disable the service .. if you are running on a network cuz sometimes your administrator send you messages through this utility..
yea but the whole point of this tip is to stop the messenger popups :P if your on a network dont or u can if the admin is a bit weird or u just dont want to listen to him :D B)
To my knowledge there is no support for the NT/2000/XP messenger service in windows 95/98/ME so the forementioned program will not ork properly on those operating system. Windows 95/98/ME systems will not give you these messenger popups. And as a tip from a programmer in many languages but emplyed as a security advisor at a small company, you guys should get yourselves a simple firewall. Even zonealarm would do http://www.zonelabs.com, this is FREE if you choose the normal version.
