Post a painting you like

This is Christ of St John of the Cross. It's in Glasgow Art Gallery (when not out on loan). It's absolutely magnificent :earl:. You have to realize that it is a huge painting, as opposed to the poster your mate has on his wall.
To be fair I think Dali is fantastic.

Re: Post a painting you like
Agrajag if you like his work, read his diaries they are better.
His shot from above is indeed genius.

I've never read anything he wrote. Never been inclined to look it out.
Did you know they have a wee Dali section in the football museum at the Camp Nou. That kind of jumped out at me in an unexpected way.

Re: Post a painting you like
Speaking of Dali, I think he made one with a fortress hanging in the sky. Looks a lot like Dali otherwise.
Does anyone of you know what it's called, or what I might be thinking of? :dabs:
Been looking for a pic of it for a while.

Re: Post a painting you like
Look in here Snee http://www.daligallery.com/
If it's a Dali you might find it.

Re: Post a painting you like
Although the religious iconography is not my cup of tea I have always liked El Greco's use of colour and Byzantine style

Oh, it actually makes more sense to me, now that you said that.
The whole thing I mean, not the shadows.

Start in the bottom left and you see evolution. Move up a bit and you see Adam and Eve. Work round from there.
Nice one Allen.

Uh, missed this, it's the one who collaborated with Pratchett, dunno if he worked with Adams as well.
If you liked Good Omens (Pratchett/Gaiman), try a Gaiman-novel called "Neverwhere".

My bad, I meant Pratchett and specifically Good Omens, as you recognised.
Nice of you to not say "You meant Pratchett, not Adams, arse." Very much appreciated.

Well, I noticed there's even a miniseries made from neverwhere (can't be as good as the book tho') so that's probably old hat to you.
