How to make a video compilation out of clips.

I'm trying to make a compilation of clips into 1 video and just wondering what are the good software i should use?

I already have fraps and just need to know what other programs i need.

You need something like Windows Movie Maker (very basic editing) or a more advanced program such as Adobe Premier to edit the video.

Premier is complicated..me hates it. Ive used WMM a few times for school projects. Does the trick.

hmm... I'm not that experienced with video editing but i cannot download Windows Movie Maker off their main website. Any alternatives?

If you have Windows XP or Vista your computer should have it pre-installed.

I have windows XP and its not preinstalled on my computer. I Am 100% positive.

It should be under Start -> All Programs -> Windows Movie Maker

Maybe you can repair Windows if it's not too much trouble, otherwise get Sony or Adobe editing software.

Is Adobe Premiere really really complicated? Is it possible to just make a compile of clips and add background music without too much trouble on a new user?

@Gam3Guy, i think its because i installed Windows from a release that took out Windows Media Player. and i dont want that installed on my comp.

I'm sure Premiere isn't that complicated.

It uses the same time line paradigm Windows Movie Maker does anyway, and I'm sure there's plenty of help on the web and in the help files.

If it really scares you go for Premiere Elements instead.
