what happend to that tracker? any update?
They were shutdown.
If the owner opens another torrent site he will be fined x amount of euros or whatever currency they use per day that site is open.
I think he had to pay some hefty fines already as well.
They still run a cod server if you ever wanted to check it out I could get the link.
Yup, it got shut down on the 14th April 2006.. I joined the site just after it opened in 2004, and got promoted to staffer later on.. Kept my position all the way till it closed down due to stupid dutch MPAA "BREIN"..
The SysOp has to pay daily if he opens another tracker yes, and it's SHITLOADS.. Damn I miss that tracker :,/

Awww, that's great to hear, mate :D It was lots of users favorite, not to sound like I'm bragging, but.. You get it, great community and lots and lots of files.. A sad day when they fell. I didn't remove the icon from my favoritebar untill mid 2006, lol. Never let it go..:O
Cheers

i Just removed the link a few months ago. :sad1:
My favorite site of all time, great community en great design
Vidde, how did he go into tracker and was he from staff or anything like it ?
And it was one of my first trackers, and n1!
compared to ftn or sct how was its position
to me it had a hard to come by combo of great staff and fast speeds. i loved the lay out! what was the motto? "where you come to get your booty" well it was something like that. sad sad day when it closed. for a few days after they closed they still kept there irc link on the homepage. i remember the irc being full of "wtf is going on" sad sad day indeed.
I've asked in an older thread about this: does anybody have some pics of the tracker?
The motto was "Pirates of the new Dawn" The header is kinda still there.. At TorrentIt.com
Tracker compared..? Well, it can't compare imho. It had great speeds indeed, but the main thing, was that they had both scene AND non-scene, like requests. You could req anything you wanted, if anyone had it, they could apply as a temp uploader to up it, and tag it with [REQ]
The coding of the site was awsome, thanks to our SysOp and coder tux. He's a really great guy, and contributed a lot to the site.
Our other SysOp; Admin, was the one who recieved the warnings and the threats. He was just the SysOp at TiT, nowhere else, and he's not doing torrents now, imagine why.. ;)
Sad sad day.. I got a screenie of their last day as a tracker.. Oh, how I miss it :(

When TIT went down, the guys created some special images commemorating their time online. A few of these are dotted around various trackers, to remind us all how fragile our communities are.
Damn... I've been a member of every major takedown since I started torrents (UKF, UKT, ET and then TIT). Doesn't get any easier to lose your favourite communities, and one can understand the paranoia behind closed door communities, since the mighty have fallen along with the miniscule.
The biggest thing I remember about TIT was their unique appearance, which deviated considerably from the norm at the time. Since then, many communities have taken a leaf out of TITs book, and created custom skins.
Only one i could find, im 80% sure i have some more somewhere on my hard drives..
