it seems that the police investigated this case for about 2 months...
anyway the sysops there where selling dvd movies...so...

If this is true, then farewell to my favorite romanian tracker. I considered them to have the best dvdr selection out of all .ro trackers.
TvT.ro is coming back soon. TBS was shut down by the police mainly for selling DVD's. They are too dumb to understand the bittorrent protocol. Their guess would be that we talk on the forums and meet in different places to exchange dvd's :shifty:

Official Report:
This has been officially confirmed. Authorities in Romania have taken down TorrentBits.ro due to illegal distribution of movies. The apartment where the server was located wasn't raided, the police just knocked on the apartment ;). The news was on TV so...it's pretty big. Other trackers aren't going down, don't worry. The operators of TB.ro were just irrational.
TB will return ?
Possibly, in the near future. Until all this crap gets sorted out, I doubt we'll see TB back pretty soon.Quote:

torrentbits.ro wasn't raided for the torrents they had on the site...but for selling dvds...they found 5200 dvds and covers mostly movies and for selling ad space
the police report never stated the tracker was closed due tracking torrents so it's kinda they fault they didn't secured the server, sold dvds and didn't knew how to secure themselves ultimately
but i think it will come back sooner or later
