Persuader by Lee Child.

Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer
I would say Dune the sequels are good the prequels are ok but the first is the best but for the 6th it is hard to say until i read book 7 of the series.

Something by Grisham...
Umm... gotta be a toss up between Pelican Brief and The Broker
the great gatsby by fitzgerald
and
the starcraft and diablo books :P
This is an easy question. The answer is Latawnya The Naughty Horse. :)
not the best but as for twist endings, try
invisible monsters & fight club by chuck palahniuk
mostly anything done by philip k. dick (if you're in to sci-fi)
I know its childish but its gotta be Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer :D
My personal favorite is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
the power of one is a great inspirational book but idk if thats what you are looking for
A lot of good books, but the one I keep re-reading is Ender's Game. I've enjoyed it for a lot of years. The series is good of course, as is the Bean series (at least the 1st two).
I'll but that on the top of my list for now.
Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks.
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
the count of monte christo by alexander dumas
"mohammed and the Christ two men,one message " it's an arabic book
"harry potter" fantasy
"odyssey collection" sci-fi
"dark tower" occult
" the davinci code" general fiction
for classics
"the adventures of tom swayer"
"macbeth "
I'm seconding Ender's Game for the twist - but the best thing I've read is probably George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. Great stuff.
1984
the count of monte christo by alexander dumas is probably my favorite too.
Let's say "the best books I've read in english lately":
Already dead by Denis JOHNSON
very simply magnificent
The red ridind quartet by David PEACE:
-1974
-1977
-1980
-1983
Ps:This for lynx
Naked Lunch
When I first read this it literally blew my mind. Read it!
Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
 Really? I thought it was depressing. :dabs:
I don't really have a favorite...Although when I read the thread title I thought of Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin. I read it my junior year of high school and I just thought it was really neat (and interesting).
the house of leaves or angels and demons, both were absolutely great
100 Years Of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is an amazingly entertaining read. Not sure it's the best I've read though.
I have a soft spot for Catcher In The Rye.
The Tibetan Book Of The Dead
Tell No One by Harlan Coben had a lot of twists.
Very good, although I'm not sure it's the best I've ever read.
Any book by a good descriptive author.
Dennis Wheatley was a master of this, despite the sometimes horrific contents of his occult novels.
Plus all the classics.:)
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Angels and Demons...Best book I've read.
The Glass Castle
