Links To Moved Topics

We are going to start cleaning up all those messy "moved" links to tidy up the board soon, probably as soon as the search facility is back on line.

This is basically to let you know.

I know that the links are popular with some people however,

in my opinion....


If you cant be bothered to look to see if you are posting in the correct section, then you can go search for your post after we move it.


Its very rare that a thread is ever deleted, so if you post and then cant see it anymore an hour later, it'll have been moved or merged with a similar thread.


Sorry for any future inconveniance whilst works are underway. ;)

I was going to say that.

Since this is now spam what say a move to the lounge RF ;)

It will be appreciated, but what if you move a topic now wont you leave a link at all?
Not that it would disturb me I think it will look a lot better.

Might save some headaches though if a n00b was PM'd with the location of the topic for the 1st "offence" with some kind of note that in future they won't be told

Agreed. Saves me having the urge to get my duster out & "spring clean" :D

Maybe this should be made into a sticky once you go ahead?

As of now links are being left to moved locations. It has been discussed to minimize the use of links and perhaps that will help ease the transition to the 'No More Links' direction we are striving for. Hopefully under this gradual move we will be able to get members, new/old alike to start taking more notice and help alleviate the "Where did my post go" syndrome, once this goes into full effect.


As for the suggestion of sending PM to notify of move, hmm, maybe the 1st cpl of days, but soon after it will be up to you as the poster to be aware of placing in the "right" section...........................

Hopefully most members again new/old alike will take heed and browse this topic as a notice of intent.

thank you, i hate seeing 6 "moved" in a row and not seeing more important topics. they are clutter and it is a good idea to get rid of the "moved" link.

Well this is good news. :) Maybe from now on the moved thread pointer could be left for 2 days then removed. If they are removed right away then we will just have a bunch of "where did my thread go" posts to deal with. I wish we could get users to post in the right place but I think that&#39;s just hopefull thinking. <_<

Not to mention all the new members we get everyday. We Might as well all get used to it :P

Yeah I gree too it soes look untidy with moved post all over the forum in particular this section of the forum
