i read a nice article about how m$ recommends you do not run these. they believe they are too unstable to be used.

and that is something them saying it is unstable. :rolleyes:

this is the public preview that they released today. they were saying that about the private betas that they have been releasing the last couple of weeks. ;)

On MESS.BE you can now download patches for MSN 6.0.0268

Description: Enable or disable multiple sessions (Polygamy patch)
Show or hide the advertisement (Banner ad removal patch)
Full reporting of the detection and patching process in the status text box.

Instructions: 1. Extract Patches600268.exe preferably to the location where MSN Messenger 6 is installed. (Usually this is C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\)
Shut down MSN Messenger 6 (Right click the icon in your system tray and choose Exit. Logging out is not enough.)
Run Patches600268.exe

Click Detect Use the < and > buttons to go to the patch you want to apply or remove Choose the appropriate status of the patch

Click Apply this patch

hi

i installed the msn messenger 6 two days ago, it was workin fine the first day but now it just doesnt connect, when i try and log in with windows messenger, it goes through but msn messenger simply aint workin. plz help

make sure you have version 6.0.0268.

Hey, i have a problem with the new messenger. Whenever i try to sign in the program freezes, it's only with the new beta, i had the old one and it worked fine, could anyone help me?

We have received a substantial number of reports from people unsuccesful at signing in with the public release of MSN Messenger 6.0. The solution is: perseverance! :P If the log-in process freezes, you might want to try this simple -but in many cases effective- solution:

1) Close down MSN completely (tray icon should be gone), go to your Settings > Configuration > Software and uninstall MSN Messenger 6.0 again. If the system prompts for a reboot, do so.

2) Download the public preview for the appropriate OS again (over here) and just to be sure, close all running applications before you install it. Again, if the system prompts for a reboot, do so (but it's not likely to happen).

3) Open MSN Mess 6.0 and log in. In 50% of the cases it should work!

What are the problems of msn 6.0 Beta¿¿

Is it too unstable so people can hack u easily by msn ?? like getting your I.P number really easy? :unsure:

this is a public preview I don't call it a BETA it's a new version but some small options are disabled that's all. no bugs ;)

I just downloaded from the official site the one for windows 98 , Me and is still freezing at the begining for log in,, even from the official website !!!!

finally microsoft admits they produce the same stuff i do in the bathroom............

newayz........... 4 all the ppl havin problems.......... id say: use msn4.6/4.7 or msn5.... u can have msn plus run on that...... wit all the xtra options.........

i no msn6 has the ability 2 log files.......... and the new emo feature is cool, but its hoggin my memory and cpu power like crazy........... its like winamp3.......... better looking and all........... but still....... no improvement.............

I'm having a problem.. when i startup XP msn 6 won't sign on.. even though i have it checked to do so. And then when i do sign on (manually) a box pops up saying "You've been signed out of .NET passport cause you've been signed on at another location" or something to that effect. I thought that maybe i still had 5.0 on my comp. and that maybe it was signing in before 6.0, but i can't find anything on 5.0 on my computer. I've checked add/remove programs and even my processes and can't find anything. Has anybody else had this problem?? ...and how do i fix it. it's annoying.

Alot of my buddys use porn icons.. lol msn messenger 6's icon feature isnt safe for little kids. (thank god they dont got chatrooms with user icons yet lol... well theyd be adult rooms or something)

That Offline talker thing doesnt work.. I had to reinstall msn messenger 6 because it was 100% allways offline and i couldnt talk to anyone.
