Now if there was a "Buddy Christ" to download that replaced bonzi buddy or other desktop irritations, now THAT would be amusing!
Anyway, http://www.churchofsatan.com/ has a nicer looking entry page

I also agree.
Why exactly would this be moved to funny stuff.
I really would like this explained to me. Any MOD available.
Well is appears its now been moved after 3 or 4 people made a point of it.
But yeah, why was it put in the funny section in the first place?
Was it because there was  's in the post !!!!!
Or because the lord Jesus is a mockery and something to poke fun and laughter at?
No matter what people's beliefs are?
There is nothing wrong with putting smilies into this thread. But it should never have been moved to the funny stuff forum.
RF said he would move it here, so as not to offend anyone's Christian beliefs. So no problem, it's sorted now. Before anyone starts going on about it, get your other cheek and turn it.
Nothing wrong with the church of satan. I've followed the satanic faith for years.Quote:

Well take the Nine Satanic Statements and tell me what you think (as a starting point)
<!--QuoteBegin-Anton Szandor LaVey from The Satanic Bible@ ©1969
The Nine Satanic Statements
1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!
9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years! [/quote]
How evil do they sound?

U make me sick, u idiot
Why? Because I dont share the same beliefs as you? Or is it because I follow a philosophy that a lot of people dont understand or maybe even fear?Quote:

I not saying I conduct black mass or sacirfice virgins here. I dont particuly believe in the exsistence of God or Satan. I'm just saying I follow the satanists philosophy because of all the the religions out there, the Church of Satan makes the most sense to me. Sorry for my personal beliefs if they offend you but thats just tough.
Now I've defended my beliefs without resorting to insults why dont you explain to me exactly why I make you sick and why I'm an idiot.http://www.emule-project.net/board/h...ns/ranting.gif
Do you get any Public Holidays or anything and are they officially recognised. We get Christmas and Easter, just wondering if you got anything.

Like I say, its the philosophy that I follow much as in the way a buddist does.
Its not my bible and I dont adhere to any religion as I am a an atheist.
I do aplogise to anybody who has relgion in their life but thats the way I am. I would never insult or perscute someone because of their relgion I just hope that the same respect could be shown to me.
Edit: And to answer your original question Jp there are 3 major holidays.
You own birthday
Walpurgisnacht
and Halloween
I have no problem with whatever philosophy you chose to follow in life. I think people just get the wrong end of the stick when you say you follow the philosophy of satanism.
I assume that as you are an atheist then you also don't believe that satan actually exists, as such you are not a satanist, just someone who has a philosophical viewpoint which is similar to theirs.
There are people who follow the teachings of Christ, who are not Christians, as they do not believe he was the son of God. In fact it is possible to follow his teachings and be an atheist. Similar to what you do, only with different teachings / beliefs.
I may not support the beliefs as you have outlined them, however I fully support your right to have and express them
Think you very much for you supportive and level headed reponse JP.
I was beginning to think I was a monster.
By posting about the church of satan I was not trying to create controvesy or offend anyone, just to expand others knowledge on it. I would recommend to anyone of any faith to d/l the satanic bible just as a reference book (its a damn interesting read). Its also a good chance to check out the opposition!!!!
Hey, that's me! He's talking about me!Quote:

I didn't want to mention your name, as it isn't my place to expose your beliefs, but yes you did spring to mind while I was writing it.
PS you really have to stop abusing your powers, to get other mods banned and make it look like people think you are cool. :D

I think I have decided to be sort of.....christian/buddhist strange thing, but then again, some views of either I dont agree with so....
I just beleive in God or something watching over us, but not neccaserily anything else....
Yeah im sticking with that
I dont think we have the right to mock anybodys religion, be it christian or Satanist. Although i do not agree with satanists, I can respect them for choosing to be who they are
The Christian view would almost certainly be that they did not chose to be who they were, that they had been taken by satan and his minions.
Is that really different from being part of any other religion as soon as you're born?
NoQuote:

Sorry to offend everyone here, but all of that religion, Satanic, Jesus, Greek Mythology, Indian Spirits, KKK, ALI and the rest are way too much "make believe" for me.
You all can bicker about your "Invisible Guy", whose is the best and such. Damn it is 2003 and need to wake up. Adjust to the times. Anyone still believe in Zues or Pharoh's Sun Gods (RA)?
Maybe my "religion" is no religion. Am I as guilty as the rest?
most interesting thread of the day by far, i'm impressed. and i should say that poking fun at religion is fine by me, whatever religion it is. why should religion be different to anything else? in my opinion you dont have to scratch the surface to much to find humour in any topic. i'm not in the least bit religious but i am a humanitarian. "May your god be with you" dave allen. :)
You sound to me like you are a devout atheist, as it would appear are namzuf and Lamsey. What they are referring to is their philosophy on how they should live their life, as opposed to any belief in an afterlife or a deity.Quote:

In Lamsey's case he follows the teachings of Christ, though he is not a Christian, in fact he doesn't even believe in God. Namzuf follows the principles as outlined in the statement of the church of satan, again he is an atheist.
They find no need to believe in the invisible guy you speak of. I am sure you have some guiding principals by which you live your life. These may be broadly similar to those held by a religion, that does not make you a member of that religion.
I personally am a Christian and I have to say that whether it is 2003, 3003 or anything else makes no difference. You seem to think that my beliefs may become too old to be true at some stage. In an infinite universe of time and space the notion doesn't really mean anything.
Does that mean you only eat humans ? :blink:Quote:

No, I think you'll find that Lamsey is tolerant of other people's belief systems. As are you and I.
I really hate intollerant people, they should all be lined up against a wall and shot.
of course i only eat humans, what are you sick or something. and they must be female and over 17, i love to eat ladies. :)
