Avril Ripoff Another Song

The alleged song thief does it again!
We try to avoid her “music” as much as possible, so we didn’t catch on to this until it was just pointed out to us.
It has been brought to our attention by an astute reader that the beginning of Avril Lavigne’s song I Don’t Have To Try - off her new album The Best Damn Thing sounds IDENTICAL to I’m The Kinda by a true Canadian artist, Peaches - off her album Fatherfucker.
The first 20 seconds of Avril’s song are a carbon copy - musically and thematically - of the Peaches track.
We don’t care enough about Avril to make a side-by-side comparison.
If somebody gets around to doing this….let us know!

Actually I really don't care.

Given that Avril was about -5 when the song she is supposed to have ripped of was a hit I am not entirely sure the Rubinoos have a case - especially as has been pointed out the original sounded like a Stones song.

I can't actually say I remember the Rubnoos and I was most definitely around at the time.

On the other hand Girlfriend is not Avril's finest moment - perhaps she should let them claim it :)

Meh. Timbaland and Nelly Furtado have been stealing stuff for ages, and they stole it off kewler, and probably poorer people at that*.

Dunno why anyone is surprised that artists do this any longer. Pretty funny if they complain about piracy if they steal stuff, though.
