The stickies up there would be a good start.
You'll need a client, such as Grabit or Newsleecher first. I prefer Grabit.
Start one of the tutorials up there and let us know if you run into any walls. :)
Skizo - Thanks, I am going to start with the tutorial and let you know if I run into any trouble.
Eyeballer - I am just trying to get my feet wet. I don't want to pay for a premium server until I have a better understanding of how it works.
Thanks
When I had that little off bandwidth available from my isp's newserver, I would get the tv shows that I had to see at that moment or software that was so old and not available via torrent's. Whatever you need/want the most the quickest is what you should get. :) I would often grab the shows and then seed back to a torrent tracker, etc.
I think I download more than 2GB of headers in a month. I think you'll soon finding yourself paying for some premium service. :D
Are you even certain that your ISP offers binary groups? I mean, 2GB are a reasonable amount of data but certainly not if you think about downloading any binaries.
Forget the headers with only 2GB of space and just keep up to date with our NZB section. :) You will only use bandwidth on files you need.
2GB is plenty for 350MB tv episodes or game rips, etc. Certainly you won't get a full DVD but you have options, especially depending on the retention your isp offers.
Is your ISP comcast? I think I am in the same situation as you, only to use it you have to call comcast to get a username and password. Thats where I am at.
And luckily Sp0ngeB0b, headers dont count.
2GB is that all? that wouldn't last me an hour..
ok if you only want to D/L porn photos
Let us know how you get on. 2 gig is a far amount especially if it is free. Probably not worth tackling movies but TV eps, Mp3 and pictures. Once you got your feet wet there will be no going back. usenet is awesome. Stick with it. A bit to learn but it is all worthwhile. Trust me. :01:
on comcast it will work for about 12hrs(takes a while to register) i was able to DL 21gb off it one night(allthough 6 months later im still capped out)
2 Gb is plenty enough for albums, TV Shows, misc. software and what not. The speeds are so excellent that you want more, but alas, you've to pay up for the good stuff :).
