Retention is an issue, and it's a little tougher to find what you want.
Depends on your provider, really. I use Giganews which has 200 day retention on binaries and 1,500 days on text. That's about 6.5 months for binaries. I rarely find something too old.
I still use a combination of newsgroups and bittorrent to get what I want.
That usually works best. I download most everything from Usenet and get special items such as movie packs, etc. from trackers.

Ok I added my servers name and when I try to get the group list its comes red and says communication failed(status) and update group list full(subject),,you sure i dont need password because i dont know it
I'd second the newsgroup notion as well.
Another good alternative is Rapidshare. While it isn't unlimited, it's a lot cheaper and there's a lot more content. You only get ~5GB/day using Rapidshare which might be more than enough for some people.
MAN I THINK I DOWNLOAD 14gbs a day so i dont think that would be good and how fast is that ,i mean i use it before but not sign on as a userQuote:

The speed is on par with newsgroups. You'll max your connection. The 5GB/day is what it averages out to be with Rapidshare. You can download more than that in a day. And you average more than 400GB every month? That's quite a bit with bittorrent.Quote:

I heard newsgroups have the same quality and content as torrent trackers, that`s why I decided to use it for a month just to check it out. I purchased unlimited newsgroup access from NewsDemon.com (using FST reference link). After that I installed Grab It, configured it and logged in to my account.

...I tried to find "Everybody Loves Raymond" seasons, however found just one out of nine.

I don't think newsgroup are "better" than BT private site.. sct/ftn pre times cannot be beaten by newsgroup.. I download all my 0days stuffs from only few trackers at speed like 2MB/s which is the maximum for me atm. I wud say that newsgroup is good for archives or non scene stuffs but private trackers still better imo and it's free..
If you're willing to pay a monthly cost for your downloads, you shud rent a leech slot on a fast ftp site.. that the only thing "better" than bittorrent imo.
im new with usenet and i can say its great resource yes 1-2 minutes slower,but i think its not bad .And i dont know about ftp site i heard that reasonable one worth $45/month .this is a little comparison btw sct and newsgruop:

It's true that it's not as easy to locate content as much as newsgroups. (binsearch or newzleech) However, there are many forums where rapidshare links are present. Probably just as many as there are private torrent sites if not more! There are really 'big' boards that have almost everything and there are smaller boards that specialize in a certain genre (music or porn for instance). Pretty similar to bittorrent now that I think of it.Quote:

Pay like 50$ for 2 months if you dont hav any skills and get access to topsite shud be outside of US and ask any of your friends to vouch for you in other FTPs and you can download so fast you hav to care only abt trading and the ratio is good if you up TV-SHOW or Movie is 1:3 for MP3 MVID and 0day APPS is 1:2.

I'd say newsgroups prob... but I still think BT is great.
You can check out eMule and Newsgroups. I still think Bittorrent is the best way to download though.
Usenet is superior than bittorrent, and with usenet clients like NewsLeecher (with supersearch) it makes finding what you need easier then ever before.
