In my opinion, the best player is ZoomPlayer 3.
I like RealOne player alot, but I normally use PowerDVD
bsplayer 086.499
jetAudio plays Real and Quicktime and all codecs
WMP XP has a good full screen interface; no Real and QT
Say what you will about Bill Gates controlling the universe, but Microsoft keeps improving WMP with every version. It gets a little nosier too about what you're viewing and where you've been to view it, but that can be easily countered with a few tweaks of what background components are running on your system.
And btw......for all those who have serious issues with anything to do with Microsoft, Mr. Gates' control over your universe ends as soon as you shut down the 'puter. ;)
Video lan will play everthing
PowerDVD is good..DivX player sometimes freezes but still its oK!!
ultimate winner is WMP9
i use all the three..
i HATE the real one player interface.
VideoLan plays files that lock up WMP and BS.
The GUI isn't as pretty, but it seems to get the job done for me.
for mp3's: wmp
for mpeg/avi files: bs player
for "unplayable" divx files: avi preview (both versions)
I use WMP v.6.x ... I find it's the best when the video is jittery in any other version of WMP... must be something to do with SIMPLICITY, yet it's WORKABLE... other than that I use divx player or something that'll play dvd's when the occasional one finds my fancy.
I use most of them, it doesnt really matter if you've got all the codecs.
Probably PowerDVD and realone the most. Sometimes i'll use zoomplayer if i'm watching it on tv with my tv-out, but only if its in a strange aspect ratio, so i can change it. :D
my favorite player is The core media player, it opens almost every movie. :D
bsplayer 086.500!
Add another vote for Videolan.
BS player never let me down yet
PowerDVD XP Deluxe 4.0
bs player rocks
the latest BSPlayer
my standalone dvd player..... :D :D
oh is this on your pc?
wmp or bs player, or divx :D
I like VideoLan the best
WMP in second
BSplayer in a close third
Is there a player that has full screen controls like WMP XP? I love jumping scenes w/o minimizing the player.
Zoomplayer or quicktime alternative for movies, QCD for music is THE best.
Edit: I heard about where BS player is, but I still haven't heard of videolan... someone please post a link for videolan player.
I tried BSPLAYER, and it fucked up things on my PC. Plus, it didnt play barely any files I through at it, not even MPEG1's! And I had codecs for them!
winamp for small stuff. the dvd player for bigger stuff.
realplayer turns my pc into a crash test dummy. haha haha ha ermmm  sorry
caffeineaddict,

what codecs do you have and are you sure the files are mpeg's?
My favourite player?
Any version of Media Player Classic.
Has been for a long long time, can always get it working thanks to choices you have with video renderes and all. (might crash occansionly, but really plays everything)
thx bait master!
A lot of people don't know this, but Windows Media Player 6.4 is still available in Windows XP and it plays pretty much any video format, including ogm/ogg. Still need to have some sort of codec pack installed, of course...
And for (what I think are) badly done ogm's containing multiple dubs and/or subs, I use Zoomplayer.
