The New Tracker Ratings [for Non-Traders and Newbies]

So As U all know many members at the FST are tired of the trading crap, and so I decided to make a thread that is for non-traders and newbies to show what the trackers are worth.

Guidelines :

1) The reviews are linked to the WIAW thread for now till we can get new reviews of our own, which will be very soon


2) This thread has everything to do with the content, speed and the pre-times of the tracker

3) Foreign Trackers will be done separately

4) Trackers are rated against trackers in the same category… Like movies, Games etc.

5) Rating 1 = Best in both content and speed

Rating 2 = Best in only content and low to mediocre speeds

Rating 3 = High speeds but low content

Rating 4 = mediocre in both content and speed

6) There is so much categorization because cross comparison can be done mainly in the case of rarity and that’s not what we want….

7) In case of the 0-day trackers the [a][b] a = rating as per content &speed and b=rating as per pretimes…


8) this list is far from complete, but it will be completed slowly

I hate to do this because I can imagine how much time you put into that....but really you need to stick with levels :cry:
I'll be voting "No, it's trash" only because there's no "It needs improvement" option in the poll....

Yeah I agree to Nestea, its structure right now isn't ok.. better make a more clear structure if you have time, much like the WIAW thread..

when you have so many categories, its difficult to divide even more between the levels.
anyway trackers are only rated on content/speed... So it comes right down to the options that I have provided here. I Know it needs improvement, but the WIAW thread wasnt built in a day either, so this is a start..

And seeing as we have only three reputed game trackers...... it would hardly be wise to divide them into 10 levels...

This whole thing is for people to understand what trackers they actually can and need to use, rather than what trackers they want to get just for the sake of it..

My opinions:
1) the mark for content put in [] in the WIAW thread is enough in general. A very useful thing would be updating the reviews there. I think that would be enough.
2) RevTT's content is underrated... It should be [2]
3) SCN and RTS contents are overrated. Both should be [3].
4) SCN is 0-day for movies and TV only so it can't stay in same category with FTN for example.
5) Pisexy has also other stuff than movies.

RTS has some good packs of late but speeds are not so good. concur with SCN

Good efforts! But many are missing. For instance, for movies there is no tracker better than demonoid (in contents) and is not in the category. And for porn, trhere are many better than those sited there.

Nice one p1r4t3 I think youve made a great start on a new rating system that can be used to help people tell which accounts they may want, so they can use them.

I personally would like to see this grow into something we can all contribute to by adding our own reviews for our favourite trackers ect...even the rankings could evolve with some kind of voting system (mods ;)) This could really help people decide which trackers they want to join instead of it becoming some kind of sick game.

And as far as the haters go, why even worry the WIAW thread isn't going anywhere and your rare accounts will still be worth something (unless they open up signups :lol:) I think the main point is this is something we can all be part of and it could become a fantastic resource for FST.

I voted no but i don't think it's trash

It's an interesting draft and i like to see the trackers categorized by content, in the WIAW thread, it's not easy to see that Brokenstones is a Mac apps tracker for example. With this thread, you get more info on the actual content/quality.

But i don't like the rating system, i would use 1-10 scale like the WIAW because we are use to it already and it gives more space to ratings. So i would still use 10 as the best rating.

Nice work anyway, it's certainly usefull for some new comers, but it needs a little more work!

the WIAW is still an essential tool for traders though ;)

I think this is a useful newbie guide. With a little more improvement / organization i'd say it's very nice quick reference guide for more specific types of content for the different trackers. :)

I think the categories give newbies a much better orientation for the trackers they really want to have.

Interesting that most of the people voting no make no case as to why. some have made resonable arguments mostly for changing it not abbandoning it all together. But it's hard to take people seriously that don't have anything to say about it :dabs:

My take on anything of this nature is....

If 1,000,000 people think it sucks, but ONE person thinks it is great, then you have achieved your aim to help other(s).

It's like torrent communities. Your not interested in those who think your server sucks, but in those who value your server.

Ignore the negative posts, and concentrate on the positive posts, and allow them to improve your ideas.

Very nice work Thanks for the effort.I feel there should be more levels also Maybe not 10but @ least 5 or so. Also 1 of my favorite trackers is missing and has been kicking the 5hit out of SCT for weeks now in pretimes Thats Super Torrents see ST music but no regular 0 day ST. It ALWAYS gets overlooked I have no idea why it is a great tracker Speed content and Pre's IMHO I give it 1 ( by your system )
