Ok hands down id give this to Queen.
Aside from being a fantastic and hugely inspirational group. Just watch their Live Aid, Wembley 86, Live in Rio performances and you'll see why they are more than worthy of this award.

I have seen a lot of bands live and 311 was one of my favorites.
KoRn on the 2007 Family Values Tour
Aside from having two replacment band members, their performance was amazing :w00t:
Hearing live performances of such songs as "bottled up inside" and "fagget" which haven't been played live within the last ten years.
The dude next to me headbanged so hard that he smashed his face into the concrete
In the end everyone swung a lighter to the performace of "another brick in the wall" just like the good ol' times...
u2 is arguably one of the best (live) bands in the world
I always remember Simple Minds as being one of the best live stadium acts, circa 1989 or so.
i 2nd U2...Great live to this day. 2 thumbs up
prince - go see him live and you'll know why.
NIRVANA
Look them up on YouTube and you'll see some great concert footage. Not only is the music the best but Kurt's personality comes out and it's really something to see. He put his soul into it.
U2's ZooTV Tour was definitey something which cannot be compared to any other live performance. Dozens of TV screens on stage, MacPhysto, telephoning George Bush, Mussolini's granddaughter, stunning closings of the shows with extraordinary performance of Can't Help Falling in Love... Unforgettable
Queen is the best, then Rolling Stones.
The Killers, I've only been to theirs, Kasabians and Hard-Fi's gigs.
Muse, amazin
In my opinion Pink Floyd is the best.
The White Stripes - Argentina 2005 ,
and Why ? because I cry when I heard "Seven nations army"
was great!
Pearl Jam, I went to one of there concerts last year when they came to aus. AWESOME!
Linkin Park. I went on their concert and it was good show.
To me nothing beats spending the 1999-2000 new year down in Florida on an indian reservation w/ 80,000+ other people to see 1 band Phish. They came on at like 15 mins to midnight and played straight through to 7:00am...
Backstreet boys are the best
Just saw Ween at the Vancouver show. They melted my face with awesomeness. Seriously, they are today's Grateful Dead, but in a good way. Deaner!
Never been to a concert (not that I don't want to :(), so I can't tell by experience, but from what I seen (Live videos) Billy Talent and Linkin Park seem really good...
The Grateful Dead put on a good live performance.
Buck Eye Lake Ohio was a nice place to see them cause there were no cops there!
Pink Floyd and Roger Waters deserve honorable mentions.
I'm a sound engineer by trade, so this is my forte. Of course musical tastes play a huge part, but professionally speaking, there are two artists that come to mind.
Bruce Springsteen
Prince
Both are absolutely amazing artists and their live shows are events which will change you.
I've been on Fun Lovin' Criminals, The White Stripes, Happy Mondays, !!!(chk, chk, chk) , Sonic Youth, Asian Dub Foundation, The Stooges, the Hold Steady etc. But my no#1 live show was the Pixies
Dave Matthews Band! :)
I really love CKY playing live, they live for their fans and you notice that when you watch them live.
I havn't really seen Red Hot Chili Peppers live with my own eyes, but juding from videos (like Slane Castle) they are maybe even better live then their albums!
Muse
The best concerts I've been to are Wide Spread Panic and Page/Plant (Led Zeppelin) because of the awesome atmosphere, the great sound and the Wide spread Panic bongo drum player, he's fuckin' awesome :D And of course Jimmy Pages excellent guitar skills :D I was a bit dissapointed that Page/Plant didn't play Stairway To Heaven though, but it was still an unforgetable concert :)
Muse or Sigur Ros. Muse is..ridiculous, but take a look at Heima to see why Sigur Ros might be better.
I really liked U2, Pearl Jam and Metallica :01:
I couldn't go to Moby, but my friends said it was awesome (same about Coldplay).
I'd probably say Queen for the performance, Pink Floyd for the show.
Also, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith all deserve honorable mentions.
wouldnt particularly say they are the BEST BEST EVER but i saw Aerosmith last summer, and it was amazing!! they had the power, the passion and most importantly, the crowd rocking :D i wasnt a real big fan of theirs, but that really did convert me!
Another great show was Placebo Argentina 2007.
Started to rain in the middle of the show, when they played "Bitter End"
That band sounds really good.
i went to see linkin park live and their the atmosphere and stage presence was really impressive!
