yes they can but you have to be a FTN power whitch means you have to upload 200GB and have ratio above 1.xx to be FTN power and to have good posts at their forums and then ask them that they you give invitation and pray it go get one and invitate ur friend :)
They are all true :D
Yes
Yes
that actually doesnt sound as hard as i thought it would be, i wish i was there so i could hook up some good users here like me. like TT that i just got i have to be there a fkn year before i can get invites, or some sites you gotta UL over a TB, that would suck.
invites are not hard to get on FTN. The rule is simple dont be a douche bag and contribute. I mean gettign 200 gb upload on ftn is easy you can do that in a day with a good link. You see ppl with over 200 gb getting turned down for invites cause they are trying to do the bare minimum. I think there are lot more ftn invites around than you think. Its just the people who have them dont give them out cause they know what they are worth and they also dont want to invite a bad person and wreck there inviting privalges.
There isn't a ratio system anymore, so the requirements to obtain an invite are a little steeper. If your torrent history is green across the board, and you're active in the forums and on IRC, getting an invite cannot be that hard.
I suspect the invite system may change a bit, with this "great new system" of Brandon's :naughty:
Is there a big difference between having a ratio and having a green torrent history.
Yes, you can seed for 36 hours and have had no leechers and/or no upload the entire time of that, yet you have fulfilled the seeding requirements for that torrent to give you the green light, which on unpopular torrents when you have been away for a week or 2 is just perfect.
The difference I see in having a good ratio and a green torrent history is as follows.
Good ratio proves you seeded back the same amount that you have taken and probably even more then was required, but the flaw here is that it can be achieved by jumping on a popular torrent with a seedbox or of course cheating and then begin just leeching stuff because of your buffer.
Ihmo this don't show the spirit of sharing as much as having a green torrent history which shows the user is really making an effort in the long run to share to the best of his ability and even if the members ratio doesn't have a huge buffer he/she is still a vital part of the site and most likely has been of help to members who jump on a torrent late.
Do you guys have a green history or something?
I never see any color on my torrent history, just a plain gray..
Is this green history think useful if u seed every torrent to 1:1
I hope this rule only applies when u can't seed 1:1 :)
True.
i came from eMule school, where sharing was not a way of enlarge e-penis or gain status, sharing was a way of friendship and pleasure that motivated us for sharing for months or years our files.
Today, i see with sadness that the first goal of a lot of users is download the faster they can, and quit seeding the quicker the better (seedboxes)
I have 1mbit upload connection and i seed 24/7, my FTN torrent history has some red points, i have seeded those torrents for weeks and months though.
If you have no pink line through any of your torrents, they you are all green, the pink line looks like a highlight pen has been used horizontally through any torrent that has not been seeded to the requirements.
I don't get one thing though. There's this 36hr seeding rule. Can anyone explain it to me? Do you have to seed 36hrs straight after leeching something or you can seed, let's say, every day 6 hours for 6 days?
let's say, every day 6 hours for 6 days
Yes, and that actually benefits the tracker, it keeps the torrent alive longer, providing the leecher can grab it all within that time frame.
Of course, if you give totally nothing in GB back, and only seed the 36 hours on every torrent, then you will never achieve a promotion in class, and therefore lose out on the benefits associated with getting promoted, so the incentive to seed by GB & time is both there.
