I agree.. 98 and 98SE are like the same..
Both get illegal operations, and blue screens of death..
Windows 98SE can be 123 MB cause I have one version which is only 120 MB and it works.Quote:

blue screens will never go away in 98 or even the ugly Me
yeah, u could try 2000, u can get 2000 with sp4 integrated of emule, its under 500mb, i just put it on my other machine, its only 500mhz and 256mb ram andits running great
From what I've seen and read, window 98 cannot be upgraded to 98SE without a great deal of work. It requires registry and memory changes to fool the installer into allowing it. They are two entirely different OS's and are not really compatible with each other.

yeah i got 500 mhz and 128 ram and im running xp pro but its sketchy ass HELL in video games, compared to when i had 98.... will windows 2000 work better for video games?
Windows 2000 won't work better than 98SE for games but some that won't work at all in XP will work OK in 2000. If you want XP and games, then consider installing a dual boot setup with 98SE and XP.
Play games in 98SE and do your business, chatting, movies, etc in XP.
My ideal setup is 12 gig for 98SE and 18 gig for win2k. If I need to work with XP or anything else, I add it to boot as an extra system or install it in Virtual PC.
that would be nice exept i only got a 20 gig hard drive ;)
i guess its time for a new pc
win 2k all the way. its the most stable os (windows) out there.
I am downloadin 98se could someone give me the upgrade for Windoes 2000 is it on kazaa then.
2000 or 98SE
I disagree. On my old PC, I was running Windows 98 (the original one) and it ALWAYS used to crash, when I was half way through an important document, I could depend on it to crash. Now that I'm on Windows XP, things couldn't run smoother. I'm on 2GHz with 256MB of RAM and it's crashed like once or twice in like a year (and I hope for it to stay like that).Quote:
