i use registry mechanic
Tuneup Utilities has a registry cleaner and much more. I still use the 2004 version.
Are there really any reg cleaners out there that remove stuff that it is supposed to and not the stuff you need every reg cleaner i have used allways left me issues and removed things that i needed my personal experiance i stay well away from them
System Mechanic 7 Pro works fine as well
I wouldn't use rm for nothing.
TU2007 is grand.
I am using registry mechanic... It's work a fine job....
jv16 power tools + uniblue registry booster :)
regseeker for me never a worry with it
i use the one in ccleaner and the one in xptools.
ccleaner is extremely basic, hence it is Totally safe but misses a lot of the vitals.
yea the xptools one gets alot of stuff that ccleaner leaves behind.
What the hell, I could of swore I replied in this thread....blah. I use tuneup utilities 07 & ccleaner.
System Mechanic
I have try many many registry cleaners and my favorite is Registry Mechanic and tuneup 2007
RegSupreme Pro is one of the best, i use it for a long time.
All of the Above ? Just thinking tho you really need a good program to clean the old or obsolete program entries after a problem or reinstall of a program like Nero for example .
Ever ran a reg cleaner program after a clean install , you see 144 problems and think what the fuck . Its typical of Windows O/S tho so I'll get over it but has cause me wonder .
I use Ccleaner and Tuneup 2007 by the way , just think they work very well together . The more powerfull ones I shy away from as I share with a lot of noobie friends and think whats a good safe program for these dummies . I mean that in a good way as they would n't understand a program like Regcleaner or Reg Supreme . Of course a good one has a back up function .
I use Registry Clean Expert, simple to use and have a backup function.
great software, i use it too.
I use ccleaner and advanced system optimizer.
ccleaner and ace utilities.
ace utilities for me 2
I use Tuneup Utilities 2007. Great software;)
I am just curious who is more reliable so I try to use both TuneUp Utilities 2007 and Registry mechanics..
After cleaning with Tuneup, i started to clean with Registry mechanic found 158 problems..Then I try again to clean with Tuneup 0 problems found...
Conclusion: Registry Mechanic :)
these so called registry cleaners are not but bullshit, they help nothing. you may thing it will fix any flaws or application needed keys but they do nothing, they dont even clean what is not needed for example uninstalled program keys. i have tuneup and when i run it all it does is removing the scene folder name which have extension type file names(eg crap.xvid.BS), because it has dose dots it assumes its faulty file extension and dose something to it.
thank you
jv16 regcleaner - wicked cleaner if you know what you're doing :D
alot of regcleaners have word filters so they dont clean them out or show up in the end of the scan.
A good cleaner for some1 who understands is a scanner that shows these entries but still allows you to clean them out - lets say theres a key that was found in an "uninstall" directory but that prog isnt installed anymore - is filtered because of the word "uninstall" - some1 who understands will clean it out - some1 who doesnt will leave it alone :D
to sum it up - if you dont know what your doing - get a cleaner that doesnt show filtered entries like ccleaner :D
if you do know what your doing get a cleaner that shows everything but filters/flags important/harmfulifdeleted entries like jv16
No I don't mean that cleaning more registry entries is not a good thing. I mean that some of these entries can be necessary and important for the operating system and shouldn't be deleted.
Take, for example, JV16, which finds the most obsolete entries than any other cleaner. Well if you run it a couple of times and delete all its findings, your system may be unstable.
Two very safe reg-cleaners are
1. ace utilities on the standard and not the thorough scanning method
2. tune up utilities
JV-16 is quite good if you know what you are doing and choose manually which entries to delete (and if you have the time also).
One thing I notice about the posts made here - not a single one has made mention of the need to make sure you know how to backup and restore the registry (from the recovery console if necessary) before you even begin to use one of these tools.
If you aren't absolutely certain you know how to do that, and made a backup, you should not even consider using any of these tools.
thanks for all your comments and also lynx. thanks
RegSupreme Pro
Tuneup Utilities and RegSupreme+jv16 power tools
I recommend ccleaner (formely crap cleaner). Tune up utilities ruined my mbr twice in the past, but to each it's own.
