There is a free one on download.com, to tell a lie there is more than one, more like 20. There free too.
think it's called Easy CD-DA Extractor or something
google a completely free program called "dBPowerAmp"...its a really good one, woth addons (also free) you can also do ogg's, wma's etc. etc. :)
Thanks alot guys, I got it
winamp does but in a kinda user-unfriendly way
I think most cd burning software does it as well. I use acoustica mp3 to wav converter. I think it's the best. You just highlite the songs you want to convert right click and hit 'convert to wav'. you can que up as many as you want and it just converts them in the order that you clicked on them. It's not free, but i got a serial from a site which i can pm you if you wish.
There r tons of audio converting softwares around, but in my experience, the best one is CD MP3 Terminator, because it can convert any audio file format to any audio file format (mp3, wav, ogg, wma, vqf, ape..) even tho I had never heard of half of these formats before :D :D
Yeah, I like dBPowerAmp.. simply for it's ease of use... just right click on the file(s) you want converted and choose what filetype you want from the context menu.Quote:

You can even input what directory the converted file will go to when you config the program, which is a piece o' cake... great stuff.
Check out steinberg's wavelab. One of the best audio editing programs around. Although you ask for a free program in a filesharing forum, dont figure ;)
winamp has a plugin that'll let you do that, real easy, nice quality.
There are burning packages that'll let you burn mp3's too.

The best one is cool-edit pro.Cost something like 5000 €, but you can get it for free on kazaa. It's also a huge home studio software very easy to use,you can do any transfomation you want to a sound.
And does not use much ressources.
I have used a program called "DB Music Converter"
Don't remember where i found it, but i have converted countless .WAV files without any negative experiences.
Have you ever had programs that are just so perfect that they just seem to cater to you? Thats my experience with this one!
:D
