what version of perfect disk? i think 6.0 is out
i think all defragmenters defragment to the same quality - Diskeeper is apparently the fastest, but it scares me with its vicious hard drive scratching, Beastie style
i use Norton Utilities' Speed Disk - seems fine to me
yes I use Nortons utilites speed disk to and it works very well, just don't use the windows defrager becaseu it really sux and doesnt do the job as good
With perfect disk you can do an offline defragment. The systemfiles wont be defragment wiht an ordinary defragapp.
So Perfectdisk got my vote.
You can also get http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware...agedefrag.shtml
That does the same thing. Its for free
But I think what's best that the same app does the offlinedefrag.
Perfect Disk Rules!!
i use diskeeper
Diskeeper vs. Built-In Defragmenters
How about the one integrated within Windows?
never had a problem whit norton system disk works great everytime. It gets my vote
ok.. but which one is the fastest?
i know d
Fastest = Diskeeper, but rubbish. Can't do half the job that Perfect Disk does.
Best = Perfect Disk v6.0, no contest. Defrags everything in one pass.
Could someone post a hash for the Norton defrag? Not the whole utilities program, just the defrag if possible.
Try VoptXP (if you use WinXP). It does my weekly defrag in 3-5 minutes.
Has a few other v.useful tools also.
I'm not sure what this proves, but Diskeeper is the only utility that PCPitstop will pass my diskhealth check with.
Both Norton Speed disk and PerfectDisk failed.
