Now people...THIS is SCARY! BRIEN at it again.... going after some decent trackers

I just read this on Afterdawn....

The infamous Dutch anti-piracy group BREIN has now gotten the web host LeaseWeb to take down several more torrent trackers, and this time the names are very recognizable.

For those interested in what sites are hosted by LeaseWeb, here is a list, with some very noticeable names. btjunkie.org, seedpeer.com, torrentleech.org, mybittorrent.com, btmon.com, sumotorrent.com, what.CD, waffles.fm, hdbits.org, bitenova.nl, torrentportal.com, monova.org, not to mention dozens more smaller sites.

TORRENT LEECH? WHAT.CD? WAFFLES .FM? BTJUNKIE.ORG???

WOW!

I hope these miserable idiots are stopped soon!!

any company in that country is going to obey to any court order thrown at them. leaseweb is a very good hosting company. they host a lot of topsites too and i've never seen an order for those to be taken down like the bt sites.

Torrentleech has got to be on the top of some of those lists.

TL gotta be their n1 target, _if_ they're going after them at all.. I think they got what they wanted when they shut down OiNK; to scare the hell out of everyone.

It works (sadly) for some, but don't buy all this. If you're really paranoid, just rent a seedbox to hide your IP from leeching, for instance..

Not TL and the 2 best music trackers . Hope these sites use their extra "rainy day" donations they have and settle the stuff off the court . No doubt Oink raid was shocking , but strictly speaking , Oink was still only a music tracker , u could atleast get scene mp3s from other trackers or from limewire / emule / web . but if TL closes , its probably the best 0-day source (which includes absolute everything including music) for so many ppl out there who dont have the luxury of other 0-day sites .

I also have a feeling that TL is the next target. TL is the next site with the most traffic and number of users, similar to OiNK. But I really hope that TL doesn't suffer the same fate as OiNK did.

More bad news it looks as if i will end up with no torrent sites left :(

Well .. about stability issues of music trackers ...aren't
waffles for example mention they gonna change servers and stuff ? if they are still staying on a vulnerable spot its bad .
if you wanna gain trust , you must stay stable and aware of dangers ~ (or in short... learn from OiNK's ambush shutdown) .
otherwise people will have to start everything from scratch everytime ,and in this pace we pretty much going nowhere fast =/

really bad news tl is the best

both what and waffles say they are moving there servers to Sweden but as we all know Sweden will not stay safe forever.
Also TL staff are not talking on the forums about this so I guess their keeping it hush...hush about what their plans are.

actually an admin on TL did post that they do have backup plans so no need to worry
