I have a hivebox and I love it. Great security and service and speeds.
The biggest issues are that FTP speeds are slow (but aren't they always) and that I can burn through my bandwidth very, very fast. :P
if you do, tell me because we can both get 20% of whatever bandwith you order if we do a referal. :DQuote:

never heard of them before, just had a look at the site and it's definitely a diffrent approach than a vps or dedibox.. interested to read a review also.
Am waiting for a review too. :) Especially upload speed with SCT. If it all works out, I am ready for a collateral referral too.:)

I have hivebox. I purchased 1000GB transfer and 25GB storage for 30 euro. I thought it was a good deal. I've seen downloads as fast as 10MB on sct - they advertise 5-10MB down. The FTP is very slow, the only downside I can see. From Amsterdam to the U.S. they claim you can get up to 250KB/s, but mine averages about 25KB/s although at times it goes to about 50-75KB/s. It's a great plan because it lasts as long as your bandwidth is good for. But watch out on sites like TL - your bandwidth can go VERY FAST!!
seedboxes are fun :) if you got the cash just get a dedicated server and install the software of your choice :) i got a seedbox here in the states and one in Malaysia i also use the boxes to host other things too.
The thing thats great about Hivebox is that they are seedboxes. Thats exactly what they are designed to be. http://hivebox.net/about.html So theres no worries about whats on your HDD etc. etc.
I'm getting good down speeds (8mb). I am seeding one torrent at 1mb. I need more torrents going to see what I can max out the upload at.
1mb or 1MB??? megabits or megabytes?
On hivebox I've reached 10MB/sec down or 10MB/sec up.
for 50 euros per month and only 1tb? Thats alot.
You can easily get double that for the same price.
Any threads on here regarding seedboxes? I'm interested in getting one but don't know enough but them. Any help would be great thanks. could also pm me.
Hivebox isn't per month. You pay for the bandwidth and it's yours for however long it takes for you to use it.Quote:

Yes, I'm serious. So if you get 1TB bandwidth and it takes you three months to go through it, it's yours for 3 months. On the other hand, if it takes you 48 hours, that's it for you until you renew. :P

another person on the thread, told me their services are oversold :( so it might take someone a few months to reach their limit
Adman, do you have root access on the box? i.e., can you do manage the box however you want and install stuff, etc.? seems these boxes might be managed with no root access from another users post

Nah. You won't get the full 5-10MB/sec all the time, but the speeds (other than FTP) are still quite fast. My first plan was 100GB and I burned through it in no time at all. My second one was bigger. :DQuote:

No its not like that its the utorrent webui and you will have ftp access. It is a seedbox not a normal server.Quote:
