What Happened to Demonoid, Will it Ever Return?

"Nobody really seems to know what the future holds for Demonoid, however, Deimos, the founder and main admin of what used to be the most popular (semi)private BitTorrent tracker, has given people a little hope.

He writes: "Money is an issue, but the real problem at the moment is finding a suitable place to host the website. There has been no luck there. And there’s some personal stuff I need to take care of that takes most of my time at the moment, and that does not help."

Deimos is right, it’s getting harder to find a suitable host. However, it is far from impossible since all the BitTorrent sites that were kicked out by the Dutch ISP Leaseweb found a new home within a week."

At least this news is a start and it's good news.

I for one will have no probs donating a few quid WHEN Demonoid re-appears.

Money will be an issue at first for them but after awhile it will be no probs as Demonoid had many users that really loved the place and will surely donate.

even i miss demonoid i want it to be hosted on safe place romania is quite safe and definitely donate some dollars to it

I very rarely ever used it, but Demonoid was my "go-to-guy" in those few times of need. :wub:

Demonoid was my place for rare movies (Suburban Commando) and bootleg Jethro Tull albums. I know I'm newsgroup crazy but I miss it. :cry:

Same here, it had some of the hard to find stuff :)

Demonoid was my favorite tracker. It had almost everything, except the speeds. I do hope it returns.

I still miss it too , but life goes on . I see some trackers I use are starting to upload some older movies like Enemy Mine or stuff like Rem & Stimpy , or there's still the public trackers for the rare things I'm looking for . Demoniod was still my fav but whats the old saying ,you wont miss me till I'm gone ?

I liked the content, but wasn't too thrilled about the site and the community. Quality wasn't that great either. It was also swarming with anti-p2p.

Eh... I can get booty elsewhere.

It doesn't matter if the ratios survive or not, as they meant zilch @ demonoid.........you would never get banned for low ratio, as they used a different system than the majority of other trackers (that use passkey), and it was notoriously unreliable.

Deimos has hinted that it'll be back, but he has got a life, and even if it never comes back, he'll go down in history as one of the best. I'd buy him a beer or 3 any time ¬_¬

many ppl is waiting for the rebirth of demonoid, I hope it'll come back very soon, just so many rare contents there, couldn't find elsewhere

It was the first place I felt a sense of community and that encouraged me to be more than a leech - seeding longer and uploading my own stuff - despite being a total noob on such matters.

i think Demonoid has been laid to rest , But it was replace with http://www.torrentstorage.com/browse.php The New Demonoid now that's what i think , ofcourse i could be wrong . but i don't think i am .

I really like demonoid especially the credibility of the files I downloaded from there...I've been using it since after suprnova died...I hope it will come back

Yeah it looks like Demonoid,but i dont think that site is new Demonoid...After fall of Demonoid,many trackers are compare and many sites acclaim as a new Demonoid...I heard that Zamunda is new Demonoid,but i dont think so

Yes, I used Demonoid almost exclusively... It seemed like I could find anything I wanted on there! It'll take awhile for the community to gather like that again.

I truly doubt demonoid will return
a new site will eventually replace it
