I'll listen to just about anything but rap. I do like some of the old stuff tho - Slick Rick, PE, Tribe, 8-Ball and MJG, Geto Boys, Run-DMC, NWA and the like. I'm even known to have some Outkast or 2Pac (from when he was alive; not the 30 albums that have since been released) and Jay-Z (but only the Reasonable Doubt album)
Otherwise, southern rap styles are OK as I have a couple of friends who listen to it and I hear a bit that way.
However, all the newer stuff all sounds the same to me. Shit.

Yeah rap all the way i find rock very annoying cant even understand why there always screaming at the top of their lungs its extremely annoying. lol just my opinion

Rap is flooded with too much commercial bullshit these days, ie 50 cent, G-Unit, Souljah Boy or whatever. Get yourself some CunninLynguists, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Outkast, Saigon, Wu-Tang Clan and I'm sure you will have a different perception of rap rather than just speaking of drugs, guns, hoes, bitches and what not.
Rap. I only listen to rock to find hard guitar samples. But i prefer 90's Hip-Hop vs this commerical wack Hip-Hop where feed now of days.

Why compaire 2 such different styles?
For me it's no choice, only Rock has to do with music. Rap is just people talking dirty very fast. They often try to hide that by using babes with angelvoices and samples of old hits. But they ain't fooling me. Everyone can rap, it's nothing special. ;)

Well good rock is really timeless music. It doesn't age. If i listen to Yes or AC DC it could have been a brand new band. It is like hearing Mozart! I doubt that 20 years from now someone will play snoop dogg/ Notorius B/eminem or whoever because it is so good, so timeless :whistling
Classic Rock is my listening choice. I don't mind the older Rap but the new one have too many f**k words and sound cheap;ie 50 cents:D

Depends on where you look for the rap, mainstream/commercial rap sure sounds like that most of the time. However it is not hard to find people that rap about other things, I have found quite a lot of it. Not that I like all of it. Just that it is there.Quote:
