Can someone recommend me good electronic encyclopedias like Encarta?
My teachers seem to hate wikipedia cause it's not "reliable" or whatever, so I wanna try using encyclopedias.
Thanks

Hi FalconAce !!!
Best option for you is :

More info @ http://www.britannica.com/
Regards !!! :)
well britannica is the best of course. Secondly you can use encarta
That's the true, Encarta Rocks!
I think there's probably two main ones: Encarta & Britannica.
I'd try to get both as some info is not found in the other.
Also. Microsoft Student with Encarta is an extra feature that can help you out with math lessons(theory) and research papers. It has templates for quite a bit of tasks such as presentations, mark recorder, different types of reports.
Thanks for all the replies
Looks like Encarta and Britannica are the best options for me :D
@wrongun92: Microsoft Student with Encarta sounds great. Thanks for the suggestion
Where can I download the Britannica software now...?
I will also suggest Britannica. It's good.
Encarta and Britannica.
i woulda failed english without briticanna so i would difintely recommend that
I use to use encarta all the time until I found out about wikipedia, but I know teachers frown on it. So my vote goes to encarta
I actually like Wikipedia! But as has been mentioned, it's frowned upon by schools especially if you quote it as your authority. So yep, go for Britannica and or Encarta.
I don't understand why everyone hates wikipedia so much.
Just because everyone can change it? That's what makes it such a great, dynamic resource. Not everyone can contribute knowledge to some stuffy encyclopedia like Britannica or Encarta.
You have to cite your sources, and if you don't, your claim gets flagged. They lock hot articles to prevent vandalism, and most of the information is extremely accurate.
