Is stealing porn from the internets less bad than stealing other things.
Ethically porn isn't my thing
Yes, it's less bad as they aren't as likely to sue you coz they've got teh bad aids. :smilie4:
p0rn is like a necessary evil
Which necessary evil is it like.
:wanker:

Naturally, or unnaturally.
You getting ready for your holidays.
While I don't think downloading other stuff is particularily immoral, downloading porn is even less so.
From what I understand, it's not uncommon for people in that industry to exploit newbies to the business, no to mention all the trickery wot goes on online, where people lose money and so forth, getting stuck with dialers and woteva connected to porn sites.
Not to mention that they rely on lonely people with no outlet for their urges to pay them lots of money.
And some porn promotes some pretty skewed values, at that
Hence, a lot of them aren't nice people, and people not paying them (that's what it is, it isn't quite robbery) won't keep me up at night.
Great post, ending with a quality WAHEY!
its been five weeks, porn is anything but a bad thing.
stealing things in the outside world means stealing material items which could be traded for money/other things.
Stealing on the internets means getting something that had 0 value in the first place (bytes). If it didn't really exist how could it be traded? Or, if you were never going to pay for it then what's the difference?
I'm just broke as hell so...
The individual would be the only one to really know if they would have bought the product, were it not stolen via the gift of internets. See pro267's post.
It's an interesting point either way. A DVD movie isn't really the physical media you buy, it's the intellectual property stored upon it. It's the movie itself, not the medium.
So what would be more wrong, downloading a movie, or stealing the DVD you burned it to.
In the future, when positing questions about ethics it would be less biased if you didn't preload the question with terms like "stealing".
Ross, your entire post is pish.
Seriously, completely mushheaded.
What does this mean exactly...

No, thick person, you don't use the word stealing because it predetermines the answer.
Ethically, the act of theft is not permissible regardless of the item taken.
Your question, as originally stated, only allows for one answer so it doesn't merit discussion.
Boredom.
Bill O'Reilly would be so proud.
I'm not surprised.
Just looked him up, a Catholic of Irish descent with a BA in History, a Masters in Broadcast Journalism and a Master of Public Administration. He played semi-professional baseball and tried out for the New York Mets. Married with two children. Anchors his own news program which is regularly the most watched on the major cable news channels. Also host a radio show, writes newspaper columns and has published several books.
Seems like a very accomplished chap.
I think you may have looked up Ron Burgundy.
