I agree with sharedholder.
Those users who know little about computers never mind spyware, will not understand the benefits Kazaa Lite has over KMD. It would be interesting to know how many poeple use Kazaa Lite, compared with those who use KMD. Certainly, the majority of users who upload from me do not have anywhere near a PL of 1000, suggesting that they are on KMD.
Maybe we could allow KMD users to fund Sharman, subsequently helping maintain the Fast Track Network by taking advantage of Sharmans revenue. Me personally, i'd like to see Sharman bankrupted for their dishonesty.
Myself, i often PM users to 'spread the word' (with varying success due to outdated versions) and my user name is 'KMDisSPYWARE_www.k-lite.tk'. I have a text file saved specifically to send to KMD users, which includes links to k-lite.tk, adaware and spybot.
Unlike tite-wad here, i enjoy helping people. This attitude, where you maybe feel you're part of some cool secret 'undergound', is a bit pathetic.
the more n00bs you tell about a program like k-lite, the more n00b questions you get like "how do i use kdat/ksig/supernodes etc...
I say we don't bother attacking anyone and just continue sharing shit, talking shit and enjoying shit.

Also i have seen more people recommand kazaalite then anything. Word of mouth goes somewhere.
But the fact is that those people that switch never run spybot or adware. Which kind of makes kazaalite useless, because they already have the spyware and adware on their computers.

IMO active advertising is very close to spam, and would bring more problems than solutions.
KL++ already has a reputation in the P2P community as being superior to KMD in multiple ways - It's not like the program's a secret. Chances are that if they do not know about Kazaa Lite, they're going to be likely to be asking the same questions again & again anyway.
I hate to sound isolationist about the subject with KMD users but we already have problems new members going on about the same crap every day. When a day goes by without a problem, then maybe going active about it may help. But right now, we have our own problems with members and while that's still a problem, I don't think it's a good idea encouraging when there's already a lot of publicity for the client.
There's no point helping others out if we can't even sort ourselves out <_<
