I was a bit curious about IRC since that was what I started filesharing many years ago. But forums like this doesn't have an IRC section. I wonder why its not more popular?
Are there any forums similar to filesharingtalk you can recommend where IRC is discussed?
IRC section? you mean an IRC channel or a place where you discuss about IRC (discuss about IRC? o_O what do you have to discuss about)

Yeah, I agree it would be nice if we had a list of good channels with lots of bots to download from. For me it would be more valuable than a Kazaa section :P

Yeah, I have the problem that DefX says all the time when I try to download from the popular channels. It's always waiting in a huge queue or the bot goes offline in the middle of my download :/
That's why we need a list of the less common channels that not everyone knows about :D
ok im stuck what websites do you go to look for channels because packetnews is full of spyware and freezes my computer
i would say bittorrents and irc is my life heh, i don't use irc to download off of i use it mainy to chat on.
I started on IRC many moons ago. But recently moved to totally Bittorrents and use IRC just for chatting and helping folks to use the bittorrents
stopped using IRC back in 1996. my friends have me on msn.
all the time, got lots of mates on irc :]

I Love IRC. You can get lot of stuff & knowledge there. Best to meet people whom u cannot find on any other chat site.

Not as into it as I used to be, but IRC is still great for anime releases.
I think you people are all confused with FServs with iRC. But yes people runs FServ on iRN I know this very well as I run it myself. Depending on the network and channel you can always find bots hosting all kind of things. Nothing compares to DCC other than well sourced files on file swarming network.
IRC is a greatway to be a part of the community to get closer to other and share ideas and thoughts that are not expressed in the forum.
It can also be faster for requesting help or helping someone else rather then a forum.
The trackers I'm in woruldn't be the same without IRC :)

Yea i'm learning how to use mIRC. Don't really get it too much yet, but everyone seems to love it.
and also dont forget people who idle trackers irc channels :D
irc holds either the center or some part of all types of warez. if you're serious about piracy then knowing everything about irc is a must.

I use them fairly often but I would prefer not to. They are sometimes necessary and often useful.
I never got into irc. The one time I tried it it didn't work right and I never went back.
I don't use irc 2 years ago.
I just idle on channels.
