i use Virtualdubmod 1.5.1 search google---Unlike virtualdub it lets you open mpeg file and extract to bmp or jpeg--

BSPlayer can take screen captures for an MPEG with any screen size you want (including full-screen).
Ctrl+I will do it in Windows Media Player ;)
i just pressed printscreen after pauzing the clip (had 2 retry several times cause teh screen turned out black alot :()

Probably since technically it's under the dvd features but it works with all video formats that WMP can play.
PowerDVD has still picture capabilities. Just click the camera.
To use Print Screen with WMP, go to View and select Options. Move the Hardware acceleration slider to 'None' and click OK. Then pause the video where ever you want and press your Print Screen key. Now you can Paste the screen shot into any image editing software, like MS Paint, Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc.
Easier to use Ctrl+I :P And with this way, you don't need to open up MS Pain er I mean Paint... A save as box will come up letting you save the picture as whatever.
omg Xilo you're a genious! And I thought I had to capture the pictures in a movie editor :P
