Alternatives to BitMe?
Hello!
I was recently banned from BitMe, for inviting some bad users from this forum. It really sucks but atleast i have learned to be more careful in the future. Since BitMe was my only source for e-books (and what a great one!) i am now looking for replacements. Is there any other e-book based tracker out there even comparable with BitMe? I'm not looking for half-decent ones.
PS. If there has been many threads and discussions about this already, i apologize. I made a search for it but couldn't find anything.
Regards,
danio

Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
try elbitz.net , bitspyder , textbooktorrents, docs.torrents.ro etc.
-
Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
I didn't know anyone would ever want/need a private tracker for ebooks, let alone a replacement, really.

Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
http://www.ebookvortex.com/account-signup.php
http://textbooktorrents.com/account-signup.php
http://docs.torrents.ro/signup.php
http://www.learnbits.org/signup.php (not open atm, but they do open at some times)
http://elbitz.net/signup.php (Will be open March 5th and onwards)
I recommend the top 3, and BitSpyder is good, as you've already taken notice.
The other two are alright, they may be better than the last time I logged in so you may want to check them out yourself.

Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
get signed up at textbooktorrents while they're open...
i like what they've got going...seems like it's going to be a great tracker.

Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
eBookVortex and TextBookTorrents are all ebooks, and squirr3l gave you the numbers on that. Almost all non-fiction, as far as I know, so if you're looking for fiction, there's probably better options.
Docs, is a general e-learning with 5024 torrents.

I signed up on ebookvortex and textbook torrents and i think i'm gonna hunt for bitspyder tomorrow. thank you all for the tips. maybe i'll find some sleep tonight after all. lol ;)

Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
Danio, just sign up and take a look to see if you like any of those.
If you don't, no big deal and it will be deleted or disabled for inactivity.
Sorry to hear about your Bitme account.
I am fortunate my account wasn't disabled because there were 3 invitees of mine disabled for either cheating or ???. However, the rest of my invites are taken away and lost my invitation privilege.
-
Re: Alternatives to BitMe?
Well if you're in to economics and business, then you should check out TheVault's review. :yup:

yeah, this is what i hoped would happen to my account aswell. i asked in their help channel what my invitee did, and if i couldn't get my account back with invite privilegies revoked, since i myself hadn't done anything bad (beside inviting this person). apparently he had done something really bad since they didn't even tell me what and just wanted me to leave without any answers. maybe the staffer had a bad day or something :). anyways, life goes on, and I hope i can fill my needs on these sites instead.
