Attempted Cuisine review: Indian
So last week I'm driving around looking for an decent place to eat lunch, and decide to do something different.
So I find this Indian(asian) place that doesn't even look open(windows are covered), and sat down for the buffet. All the while, I'm thinking I am doing a good deed, helping out a mom and pop restaurant who probably have a family to feed, who probably need the money badly.
So all is going well until I realize the buffet is $8(between 3 and 4 pounds). Plus the drink, of course. Total meal cost me almost $10. FYI, I could have spent around $3 or $4 at Wendy's and got a satisfying meal with drink. Or gone to Applebee's or Chili's for a few dollars more and got the baby back ribs or similar, in a nice restaurant setting. What a ripoff, there was only one good thing at the buffet, the rest was kinda meh. I'm not trying to come off as h4rsh towards indians but I don't see why they have to charge those prices if it's a husband and wife team they don't even have to pay themselves salary it doesn't make sense.
Well, the one good thing at the buffet, sag paneer, was great.

-the goat was meh,
-the breaded thing(i'm assuming it was maki ki roti) with the unknown red gravy was double meh
-i didn't get to try the honey glazed round globular things
-the fried onion rings were a disappointment, i can do better in my own kitchen
overall, i was expecting more but maybe it was not a good reference restaurant.

Re: Attempted Cuisine review: Indian
cant really complain for £4 probably be expecting less:ermm:
Re: Attempted Cuisine review: Indian
I love Indian food and £4 for a buffet is a steal (although not if it is meh) - more like £8 where I am. That said my local Indian is really rather nice with beautiful panoramic views over the bay.
The fish pakora is delightful as is their prawn partha on puree and they do a lovely chicken bhoona....starting to feel a mite peckish

Just to let you know, how low it can go, here in the states(Las Vegas, to be exact) you can get an all-u-can-eat buffet with drink using a coupon for $5(between 2 and 3 pounds).
