i read a couple of problems like this on the TL forums.
its most probably because the mail was sent to a hotmail, yahoo id. i dont think the inviter can get it back in that case. ask him to post in the help forum in any case
please talk to the guys who invited you. there's nothing we can do about that.

no u shouldn't use hotmail or yahoo for TL. They tend to block invitations for some reasonQuote:

Invitations will be opened for a short period of time. Each power user has 1 invitation and each vip user has 2 invitations. Please make sure that you do not send the invite from the pc of your friend -> this will trigger a duplicate account error. Your friend should give you a mail address from a different provider than hotmail, msn or yahoo they block the invite or they send it to spam folder! (gmail works fine).
CAUTION!!! Inviting cheater/bad user WILL MAKE YOUR ACCOUNT BANNED AS WELL!!!!Its your own responsibility who you are sending your invite to.
