Most sites use acronyms just to shorten the name. Only a couple trackers really care about the name getting out.

Is this your way of trying to make people understand that any attempts at hiding a tracker's URL are bound to fail, and therefore do not help to increase the security of the site?
If it is, I can't say I disagree with that statement, but nevertheless that doesn't change the fact that if a site requests that its URL remains hidden then people should respect that.

Of course not. What's the point in trying to find a URL for a tracker you have absolutely no interest in?

I mean there are hundreds of trackers, and even if you mean "high level" ones, then what's the points if the tracker is out of reach or you have a good substitute for it?

Edit: now I know pretty much all of em :D. found PTN, iTS, know F*C,F*N,F***, U*-*, E****, S*L, S*T, S*C. thats all i need to know. yes it doesnt mean much when they dont have signups, but u feel slightly superiour to those who do not know :P

I find it quite bizar some people here seem to be proud they know all the URL's of the higher level trackers ... while just knowing them is about about as useless as a hat full of busted assholes. :frusty:

Why? Because these high level trackers that don't want their URL's revealed are certainly not gonna do open-signups.
So if you're not a member of those trackers there's nothing you can do with that knowledge and I'm quite sure if someone invites you to such a tracker they will give you the URL, won't they.:shifty:
