When a country gets to the wealth level of Portugal money ceases to make people happy. In short, you need some but only up to a point, and then other factors like home, family and work life become more important.
Money certainly does not bring happiness but lack of money can be a total bugger.

interesting that 3 of them i used to do cant be bothered doing the lottery as i don't need the money. as i once got 4 numbers and won £32 i retired soon afterwards
