please keep in mind that it would be a new site, so the size of the userbase wont be big yet
A large base of standup comedy; everything else I could possibly want in a tracker I already have, except for that.

a great design, a niche that has demand, and some exclusive/popular packs supported by the trackers seedboxes.
if you have all those 3 things i'd put my money on your site doing well. of course, you'd have to spend time/money on the design and the seedboxes, so it wouldn't be at no cost

I own a warez forum, not sure if I can post the link but it has 1000 members and I was going to make it warez forum + tracker
Oink(muscic) + bitmetv(very very much contain tv) + SCT (best pretimes) + FTN (No ratio system and great comunnity)

If you're actually looking for advice then theres 2 ways to go, make a huge site with tons of members and a broad content base.
Or...
A small but specialized tracker with good moderation and content. What area you want to go into is up to you. 0-day is probably the most competitive.
as in no ratios you mean just upload recorded?
slimdogp, I thought that as well, but I'm trying to get in contact with a friend of mine and he has scene access since he was involved with the scene for years(possibly still is..). So if I can get his help, I'll have a good jump :)

I could say that if one of those sites just remove user classes and all user have the same rights and obligations (except uploaders and staff, of course) it would be the perfection itself.
Of course, as always happens, this is another infallible theory long time analyzed and studied for me that in less than 3 seconds it will be chopped and smashed, with more than 200 demonstrated problems by the first person that read it. :cry:

A specialized tracker is the route I will follow. There are too many of those general and oday trackers around.

Tracker, requests & offers = uploads, so if I can upload what I have when I want without having to be an "uploader" for which I do not wish to compete with the kiddie racer crew, I just wish to upload in my own time at my own pace what I get, obviously not duplicating anything ofc, then providing we get a bunch of us on the same wavelength the tracker would rock.
I guess design is the first thing cause many people judge the site with how it looks.
plus first impressions last.content comes second along with a friendly community and a good helpful staff.
im thinking if I should wait for gazelle or not now

To me, Demonoid was the best tracker(may come back) i've ever had the privilege to be in, to this day no torrent site(barring content specific trackers) comes close to it, both in terms of content and community.
So if you wanna model your site based on a great tracker i'd say model it based on Demonoid(i know this is a herculean task but still).

The content is most important for me, preferably a dedicated tracker. 0day ones are too broad without a focus, trackers like BitMe has great content because they are focused.
hi chewy i rmbr you making a few posts a little while bak, the perfect tracker would be where the layout of the page is easy to navigate, fast speeds, 20, 000 users maz to create more of a community, very gud pre-times and torrents being seeded for a long time so they last long.
TL with sct + scc pretimes and without all those slow users XD
FTN & TL = General 0day Content, Easy To Seed
Softmp3 = perfect scene music site for new and old albums

blackcatsgames for games+
tti for packs (dont have sure for this)+
tl for easy of seed and content=
perfect tracker i think......dont need the best pretimes, because i can wait one hour for downloading what i want!!!!!!
yea, I would allow non-scene stuff no doubt since I tend to rip what I have all the time and upload it where I can
