Ok that is cool. Now, here is my question? You know they have the dvd-r's out? Can u burn avi movies and mpg movies on these disks they have out or are they only for burning real dvd movies on to the disk. I saw these dvd-r's in the stores and was wondering cause if I can stor all my movies onto that type of disk I can save money by purchasing regular dvd-r's! and i can stor at least 3 movies on them.Quote:

i think you can burn whatever you want on them. data, mp3s etc.
The one question for these cds is if they are rewritable.. and think about how delicate they are.. one scratch and 1500 avi rips are gone.
Thanks..u think the employees at Circuit City would know the answer to my question but I could not get a str8 answer from any of them. :DQuote:

Most likely u should be able to put any thing on them just like now but don't have to worry about that till 2007 :D
:ph34r:He's not talking about the new dvd's that are coming in 2007, but he's talking about the dvd-r's that you can buy in the store today.Quote:

And to Newcster68,
the dvd-r's that are out right now can be used to store anything on them, data, mp3's, games, movies, etc. They are just like cd-r's, only with more storage capacity. Thus on a 4.7Gb dvd you can store about 6 or 7 avi files (even more if the avi files are smaller, this all depends on the size of your avi files)
Greetz, D!mensio_x.
this disc would b gr8
Oh, I see what he was saying but he answered it so nevermind
DVD Blu-Ray technology is out soon anyway. 27GB on one DVD! :D
Blu-Ray DVD
That's good but still won't get 200 movies saying that they are all thats about 38 movies if they were all about 700 mb
OMFG.....
cant wait!....
At last! Making backups is quicker, easier and cheaper too!.
I hate when the internet is slow enough to make you post twice....
You do realize you still need a dvd burner for these discs, and not just a dvd rom drive?Quote:
