They don't have invites. Signups are open whenever accounts get pruned. It looks like there are 6 spots open right now (no user limit is stated, but I'm pretty sure it's 60000).

Torrent world you have to have all three links open like the rules, faq, and the sign-up page and you have to click the checkboxes as well. I actually had the same problem and the TB administrator had to help me out. Hope that helps.
