my vote goes 2 norton, simply the best.
NOD32. Google it. It's the best I've tried. NOD32 has rated higher than any other AV. And I've used NAV,KAV,AVG,Panda & PC-cillin. SH pm me for help if you need it.
Which is version 9?? I am running nortons corporate v8.1.
As for the the AVG, I prefer professional over free.
Steve
Thank you ,btw first i used norton corporate and i have problems .
Norton Antivirus 9.0 retail 27,6mb.Is not corporate.Quote:

I prefer Norton Systemworks.
AVG free is the best, beats norton anyday...
Check here for independent results for AV's. And then check each AV's history. None have a better record than NOD32! http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archives/tes...ests.xml?200308
Nice App. zapjb, thanks for the heads-up.Quote:

Just un-installed symantec corp 8.1 and installed nod32. Changed a few settings for my needs and all is good so far; of course further testing will be implemented...lol.

You're welcome skelley521. I've only had NOD32 about a week. And I'm so impressed. Only takes 4 minutes for a full sys scan. And all the independent reviews I've seen have been great. Except CNET, and CNET has not been independent for a year or so now. :)
Hey zapjb,
any ideas where i could get the commercial version of NOD32 for XP. i cant seem to find it any where
andr dot n*t (forum). Search for NOD32. Get Sept un/pw. Go to Eset site. Dl the commercial version not the trial.
Thanks!! Zapjb
i am downloading it rite now :P
another question though, do i have to keep getting the username and pass for updates as well or does the commercial version have a years worth of definition updates included for free??
I would say Norton.
Cnet gives NOD32 bed reviews. I perfer mcafee but norton is just as good.
What AV Prog is that?Quote:

Don't believe everything you read. Specially from CNET. CNET stopped being independent about a year ago. As far as AV's, CNET's a big time whore for Symantec/Norton.

It is one of the top performing AV's. But not well known.
Check out NOD32 performance (indepently rated) vs others AV's

I 2 agree that CNET was biased. This was ESET's response to CNETs review some time back.

:P
I am currently trying out NOD32 myself and it is really fast and uses a mininum of sys resources too ;)
Zapjb, any ideas on the update definition thing?? do i have to get a un and pass every month for updates?
Excellent article Shayne. I either have a month to month or a year. I tried the trial version with the un/pw & rolled my clock up a month & it said expired. But then I tried this with commercial version & it was ok. So basically, I'm so damn tickled pink over NOD32 I don't care if I have to go to the andr forum every month to get a new un/pw. Best rated, less resources & only 4 minutes for a complete scan!
AVG, if you wanna save up on dem' ram
AVG7 Pro is my NON-resident scanner. But it doesn't compare to NOD32 in any way. IMO every other AV gets sand kicked in their faces by NOD32.
Thanks zapjb, I just downloaded NOD32 and its really great. :)
Your welcome Benno. :)
