SeedBox - Suggestions

Hi,
this is my first thread and I just wanna say its an amazing community you have here. I know I'm new and it's not the best way to introduce myself by asking things already but I really need some answers and I'm sure this is the place to get them.
So, I'm searching for a seedbox. Two days ago I only knew the word and NOTHING else. I've been reading and googling and youtubing(!!) and reading again. I believe I'm ready to go except one thing..Which company?
I can't find a single place with customer reviews. I won't trust the ads :naughty:..
So I'm between these:
seedhost.eu which is a reseller for OVH. I can get a seedbox directly from OVH but it seems they are quite "tough" when it comes to pirate content (torrents). So I found this reseller and talk to a support guy in AIM Messanger. It was really not that professional look he said you can use the seedbox for anything you want no matter the content. But still, is there any difference? I mean it's a reseller so I'll be using the OVH servers anyway.

hosting-ie.com - Thats the second one. It looks OK but I only have heard negative things about them. The plus for me is their Raptor 1 + offer which has 2x100Mbit unmetered bandwidth!!! The minus is that they have 3 months contract at least.

So thats what I have found so far. I now it doesn't sound like much but it'll be my first time. I'm still searching and of course I'm ALL EARS..
but please keep in mind I don't have more than 60euros per month so leaseweb and similar are out of the question.

I used leaseweb express 3... but you might have the linux version... They were great for me... Now i ordered kimsufi xxl from the resellers in which there is 500 gb damn i hope speeds are awesome anyway... Dont use seedboxhosting. I am not satisfied with the speed they offer... Leaseweb is still the best for me...

edit: also if you wait for a while till they set my server up, i might give ya more details before you order machine from the resellers...

my advice to you would be this, dont use anything that doesnt have a quite reputation...

One more thing I didn't mention. I have NO experience or knowledge in any OS other than Windows. I also have never used FTP or anything else. I 'm only an "experienced" Windows user. So will I have problems finding my way around? I have bookmarked about 10 tutorials and guides which I will have read by the time I order my seedbox.
I'm also a quick learner...

well cant tell ya for sure... i had express 3 in which windows vista was installed... i didnt want to have any problems but it would be better if you read the faqs before you get your seedbox... damn waiting sucks :D

ovh isn't "tough" on torrenting, and if it was then the number of people on this forum buying them wouldnt be as big as it is.

i'd go with buying directly from ovh instead of a reseller if you can. you'll save money.

i would avoid hosting-ie, you'll wait a very very long time for your login information to ever come.

yhea go ovh.voted best provider for upload speed on speedtest.net.
and if u cant go direct look around for a good reseller.my mark up is 10 on top of wateva server u want :-)

I'd go for OVH if possible. Leaseweb is also great, but costs more and has bandwidth limits.

Thank you all for your answers. I think I have found another GREAT company..It's KeyWeb.de . Does anyone know anything about it? I found it from a MAJOR uploader on TL. So if he uses it, it must be good. It's also placed in Germany with is a plus for me as I was said to avoid US and FRANCE.

FORGET the KeyWeb.de. Its too expensive. I'm only interested for a month so if I have to pay (at least) 69,00 € as setup fee its just not worth it.

Hey, when you pay a reseller which is an asshole, you get what you deserve. Sorry, if I'm making ennemies by saying that but it's the truth. That's what I learnt during the last month. About seedboxworld.com, you are only paying for an account on their servers. You don't rent a server and compared to a Kimsufi, it's really useless.

But what if the reseller dosent rent all his servers on 1 account.
What if he only has 2 per account so the chances of no sla mode wont happen;)

You know I maybe searching around for the best but I would be happy with even 1MB/sec dowm - 1 up. You see here in Greece the best service you can find is 24/1Mbps which means 1-1,5MB/sec down/90-100KB/sec up. Again, not theoretical, IN GREECE. Everytime I upload a "big" torrent I go to an internet cafe where I seed with 1MB/sec and I stay for about 12hours!!! So anything right now, would be an improvement!

If you don't mind the 2TB Bandwidth limit, then Leaseweb is a good choice. I've had no problems with them in the past, and their speeds are great.

OVH is great to use, especially on the faster 0day scene trackers (ScT, SCC etc). There are a _lot_ of OVH kimsufi box users on these trackers, so if you use one, most traffic will be internal within the ovh network, meaning your speeds will be maxed, and your bandwidth won't really be monitored.

A simple answer to all those bad threads about santrex, for every successful business there is scammers and enemies willing to get it down. End of the story santrex is a successful business that have a good huge amount of customers, santrex do offer a high standard quick support response and does as well listen to it's customers. If enemies out there want santrex to go DOWN it wont go down and will continue offering the most cheap and stable services around.

I don't honestly think speed or hardware usage are what people complain about when they get hosting-ie. It's mostly the long, long wait people experience when they order.

But if you want to feel secure, then hosting-ie sells Dedicated Servers as well.

i dont think you will be satisfied with 70 gb mate... i have 500 now fulling it with stuff...:D

OVH and its kimsufis are great specially the kimsufi xxl...

yeah i have it and buffer like hell damn :D

trust me get the ovh its the best all the time full 100mbit connection no problem i'm buffering like crazy with it

Although I don't exactly agree with the buffering phenomenon, OVH is a good choice. Quite cheap and unmetered, how could you go wrong?

I went with OVH (reseller) more specifically seedhost.eu and its great...still have problem but thats only because I'm a noob at Linux and I ordered it with Ubuntu Linux!! I was getting the cheapest with a celeron and 1GB ram so I thought Windows 2003 will be too heavy for my system..
I would like to try ie-hosting but they have 3 months cotract at least..come on this is not trying, this is buying...!

I have not tried OVH but have only heard good things of it.
I thought about it - but did not want to learn all that lingo so I just decided that I was going to get myself a simple TorrentFlux seedbox with BR-Hosting.com and have been happily using it for the last 6 months.
So far - I can only recommend BR-Hosting accounts for people that don't want to learn all the linux details.

Some stickies with info on the various providers. Sites to avoid, good sites; seedbox comparisons etc.

I need a suggestion on which provider to go in for hosting-ie(Lin 577) or seedhost.eu(Intel Pentium E2180 2 x 2GHz) ?

I have gone through many discussions here. and this is what I get...

Hosting-ie :

Not so good customer service, but improving, and better service on dedicated vs VPS. Speeds pretty good, did not hear any complaints on that,
Better speeds with outside peers compared to OVH and OVH resellers.
High setup fee,
Monthly fee of 50Euro seems decent, especially as they let you hog 10TB / month with out any problems


Seedhost.eu:
Well i dunno anything about this... except someone here said its very good...
Also no setup fee.
Monthly fee almost the same as hosting ie.

So should I just go in for hosting ie?

or is seedhost.eu reliable? because i havent really heard of seedhost outside this site, no review etc.



Also i talked to the hosting-ie customer service guy on ICQ and he responded very promptly and answered all questions.

Please suggest...
