I paid $219 for my eVGA 8800GT 512 six months ago.
they cost about the same now, retail.
i paid $208 and that was last week, but thats in the uk £106 to $208.
mines a Nvidia Gefore 8800GT
DirectCanada has an evga 8800GT for $159.99 -10.00 mail in rebate.
Qualifies for $9.99 air shipping as well.
EVGA offers a lifetime warranty and also the step up program which allows you to upgrade to a newer card by just paying the difference in retail cost through EVGA.
Check it out.
nice prices, ive bought mine (Inno3D 512 GeForce 8800 GT) 4 month ago for $240..
they're getting cheaper with every single day...
they are getting cheaper due to the arrival of AMDs new cards and the new Nvidia 260 and 280 series
i saw AR $120

I would get a RADEON HD 4850 over an 8800GT.Supposedly they beat a 9800GTX.I take that back, but I've seen the benchmarks and it definitely beats the 8800GTS pretty well.I take that back again, :P actually it does beat a 9800GTX in some games but loses in others. You can find one on eBay for $130 AR (after rebate).

sweet, do ATI do stuff like SLI technology?
Yeah ATI has technology like nVidia's SLi but they call it Crossfire.
sweet:) wonder what the four series would be like if you had three of em on a mobo:D would need a massive PSU
Yeah lol I bet you would need a massive PSU. I wonder if you could connect 3 of these...
well you can connect three nvidia GPUs, so i dont see why not
I just checked wikipedia and it says that you can link four video cards on one mobo with Crossfire X and I know you can do that with SLi too.
FOUR! does have to be an extended ATX mobo? god thats mad the mobo must be as big as my case lol. Wonder what games you could play with that in the future. god thats bad ass!
Would love to see a MoBo that supports that :) Oh wait here's one looks cool but I wonder if it's really worth it.
The drawback of ATI 4XXX series is that it consumes lot of power compared to Nc counterparts. So IMO getting a CF of ATI card(4XXX) would really need a good PSU(costly)!
Nevrtheless 4XXXX are the best in midrange segment currently

I was looking at the heatsink that i originally got with my 8800GT and it doesnt really suck air in were the fan is, it kinda pushes it around:s Apart from me and clocker has one else sought to replace their heatsink on them?
they're starting to stop selling them now:s which is gonna be a pain in the ass if you want to SLI
I had to ebay to find my second one, after only 5 months:( bad choice I guess
Buy.com just pisses me off. They will not ship outside of US. Canadian customer's always get screwed with hardware prices.
Is this card even worth buying now though? maybe for SLI. I have a 8800GTX which BTW cost me $750 a while ago and I'm considering going sli instead of upgrading to the latest and greatest.
GTX is alot better than a GT you can higher resultions and it'll cope with them better. But two 8800GT are good in SLI i think it'll be a more popular thing for them as they are going more and more cheaper:)
8800GT is old fashion, you better try the HD4850.
Better performance-same price.
i saw a EVGA8800GT 512 for $97 AR at Fry's
I think ATI is best choice at this moment
4850 can beat 9800GTX
ya, but its twice as much as the GT
second hand practically nothing unless you sell via ebay...
