What are you currently reading?
Things that don't count:
1) Newspapers
2) Megazines
3) Forems
4) Shitipedia ar tickles
5) Manuels and other retarded shite
Things that do count:
1) Books
2) Books, like.
3) e-Books if you really can't get away from your Pee Cee screen.
I'm currently reading Joseph Conrad's "The Secret Agent".
Very impressive so far, like.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Pixel Juice - Jeff Noon
A line from one of his short stories:
"In the first shop they bought a packet of dogseed, because Doreen had always wanted to grow her own dog."
He's pure genius.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Metal Swarm - Kevin J Anderson.
It's book 6 of the "Saga of Seven Suns" series.
-
Re: What are you currently reading?
That Pixel Juice compendium seems oddly entertaining brother.
I'll be taking a look at it :)

Re: What are you currently reading?
From Russia with Love - Ian Fleming. Its book 5 of Fleming's 14 book series (not including the short stories).
Decided to read the originals after the new Casino Royale movie. I'm happy to announce that the books are far better than the movies. I mean did anyone see Moonraker? :dabs:
The book was great tho'. More of a real-life scenario. Something that could of actually happened. Not some twisted fantasy like the mov's where it's the same play over and over.

 I read his Star Wars stuff when I was way young. Of course, I don't do that anymore. Unless it involves Karen Traviss. Or Aaron Allston. Perhaps Troy Denning. Maybe even Timothy Zahn.
 I can't forget Drew Karpyshyn either.

Re: What are you currently reading?
The Skeleton Man- Jim Kelly.
I tend to binge read...when I stumble across a good book I'll go back and get everything by that author.
That's how I gobbled up all the Dresden Files books by Jim Butcher and the Inspector Rebus books by Ian Rankin.
My librarians know me by name, I can't get to sleep without reading first (and no, I don't nod off in the library).

Re: What are you currently reading?
Nabokov- His Life In Part by Andrew Field.
Found the hardback in a second-hand bookshop about a year ago and I'm only getting around to reading it now.
A bit annoying actually. It's the first part of a 2 part biography, with the 2nd part being His Work In Part. I'd rather be reading the 2nd part cos it goes in depth into the literature.
Also re-reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics which rawk the fuck out.

Yeah right.
I went into a bookshop once, they were selling Barry Ferguson's(hun captain)autobiography "Signed by the author". I asked who it was signed by. The lassie just looked at me as if I was a baffoon.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Just finished The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Johnstone and have started A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil by Christopher Brookmyre.
Both absolutely cracking. The latter is like revisiting one's childhood :fear:

because it is a lot funnier (albeit in a scary way) 40 years on :idunno:
I think that particular Brookmyre is a peculiarly Scottish experience.

Sorry but it's hard to make out what you're talking about specifically (the book - maybe include title and author, you know? I mean just spitting out an author or two (incomplete names at that) doesn't clarify enough).

It's a bit frustrating tbh. The books just sort of stop without tying up any loose ends. I guess that's the problem when they're just part of a larger story.
Don't let me put you off though :smilie4:
