On a more serious note, those threads used to appear only once in a while and posed little threat and were easy to moderate if any rules were broken.

In the past couple of months, they have become more and more frequent, to the point that we're routinely having to edit out links. I don't know whether the members in that section chose not to read the rules or they just don't care about the rules. Either way, we've chosen not to allow those request threads any longer. Perhaps if it continues to be an issue we will include a note about it on the official rules page.
