Looks like Obama beating up a kid. :dabs:
i wanna the kids go flying not just sitting on their asses:\
Busy, how are you doing. Married yet or what.
Yeah hopefully my big screen will last for 10 more years (fat chance).
I'm actually trying to lateral over to a government facility (won't name which) and maybe in coupla years get out of telecom altogether. Some other things are starting to come together for me.
We just got a new contract for 3 more years and just averted a strike.
Congrats on the promote. :bratspy:
If you bought a house over here (even in the DC area) it would cost you chump change. Euro > Dollar more than ever nowadays.
Hell Europe is snatching some our NBA players ffs.
Good luck with the career change, I hope that works out for you.
On property, one of the lassies that works in my office just bought a place in Florida. She reckoned that the exchange rate was so good that it would be wrong not to. That and your housing market being all over the place.
My plan is to stay where I am just now. I need this size of house with the big family. Ultimately I will sell up tho'. When I do I intend buying a house on the west coast of Scotland and another (maybe a flat (apartment)) in the city. I'll be able to do that easily from the sale of this place. Have some left over if truth be told.
That's flexible tho', I may go west coast and foreign (Mallorca or the like) or city and foreign. It just depends what we feel like at the time.
The good thing about the promotion is not just the money just now, which is nice. It's another £3,000 ($5,500) onto the pension and about £,9000 ($16,500) onto the lump sum payment.
Since I had already worked out that with no mortgage or anything to pay I would have plenty of spending money that's just extra sweets. And that doesn't include the state pension, which I now don't get until I'm 66 (eventually it'll be 68 but i'm old enough for that not to effect me). I intend doing the retiring thing at 60 (at the very latest).
What.
What.
What, I'm here, now he leaves.
I tells ya...maybe he sawr me comin'.
Anyhoo, good haps here, too; another contract, doubled my biz, quadrupled my personal income, gave Mizz J a whole new living and doubled replacement income (she's retired from outside employment in a few weeks), and more developments likely next spring/summer.
There's a rumor about that I may administer an international Port-of-Entry by this time next year.
See what clean living can do?
JP-
With all that going for you, feel free to treat yourself to some proper guitar lessons.
Good for you, mate. :)
B-
Good to see you peekin'
The lateral should be great news; I'll keep fingers crossed it works out.
You keep your eyes open - whether you're civil service or tight contract, there are many reasons to be at least minimally paranoid. :dabs:
As to the poor part, you know that won't last; you shop too well.
Just curious about your new family, btw - I'va gathered there are child(ren) involved...size and type?
Best to that woman as well. ;)
Us old chaps really need to get a life, eh Kev.
Will one of you adopt me? :(
It's not that.
I'm banking on the fact that both of you have a set of Chesterfields in the house.
I know for a fact JP has a set. He posted pictures of it the other week when he was showing us his new guitar.
I would send them to you but then what would I put in the lesser library.
You can afford a new set :snooty:
Indeed.
Particularly as I was gifted those ones.
True Story.
Alliterate arse.
Pecksniff. :whistling
Lickspittle
I always picture JP wearing one of those fluffy red house coats, smoking a pipe, coming down a big winding staircase to greet the guests. Sometimes he has dogs as well. :fear:
Are you on board-viagra at all.
Dogsbody.
Fluffy.
Yeah, that's him.
Not clean-shaven, either.
Tailored corduroy short-pants and long sox, I'll bet.
Maybe a sweater-vest over a dickie.
Big fancy chronograph the Missus gave him.
And that bloody Les Paul, too. :whistling
What about busy, by-the-bye?
Changed haircuts alot a few years ago, I'll bet.
Too vain about it to shave it 'cuz he's got a funny-shaped melon...:whistling
I bet he's got tribal patterns in it at the mo'.
