what do u mean control panel?
Where you plug in the HDD LED, reset, power switch.. etc
Dou you have the manual for your board?
I have the manual but it doesnt show me how to plug it in or something.. and theres these labels on the bottom of the pins but i dont know how to use them..
Sorry guys.. 20 pins on the control panel
What is on this labels?
Reset, Power, SMI, HD LED
Ok i just downloaded the manual. When you look at page 13 from your manual, which number is it?
Look at page 26 for the HD LED, and at page 29 for the "System Panel connector", there you can see where you have to plug in the power switch, reset...
Ok yeah, thats the problem.. how would i plug them in? horizontally or vertically?

I hope I got everything right, if soemthign doesnt work try to turn the conncetor around.
Hopefully this is somehow understandable =]
OMG MAN! THANK YOU!
Btw, the speaker connector, its a cylinder shaped thing at the opposite end am i right? because thats what came with my case..
does everything work now?
The speaker is cylinder shaped at the back, but it should be mounted in your case allready.Quote:

So the speaker connector doesnt have to be connected to anything once its plugged into the control panel?
Edit: Also, whats the SMI lead?
Yes, the small round thing is the speaker. Just plug it in as shown.
Don't worry about the SMI.
Ok.. now the motherboard came with two red cables.. im assuming its the SATA cables..? Not really sure.. i know where to plug them on the mobo but where does the other end go? coz it doesnt look like it'll fit into my HD
if u don't have SATA devices (hard drive and cd drive) then u won't need to use the sata cables. Just have the devices connected up using the EIDE cables
Ok.. Are SATA cables like smaller than the IDE cables or something?

SATA Cable

IDE Cable
So yeah they are a lot smaller :P
Also what i want to know is.. I dont have everything plugged into my new mobo yet.. like.. the Hard drives, CD rom, Burner, Floppy, video card and sound card arent in.. so what i want to know is.. i turned the new mobo on without those components in there and it just stays on for like 5 secs or so and shuts off.. is that normal for a7n8x deluxe?
I dunno if thats normal, but i wouldn't worry yet, I think the first real test u can do is to see if anything appears on the monitor screen, when u've wired up the motherboard, cpu, ram, video card (plugged in and connected to monitor) and hard drive. (ie checking if the system 'posts')
The asus deluxe has that voice post thing, so if anything were seriously wrong i would expect the motherboard to either do nothiing or speak saying what the problem is.
Alright, ill see how it works.. I just hope i dont blow the mobo.. =\
have you put in the isolation between the mobo and the case?
Small plastic rings which you give around the screws.
