I loved The Simpsons. They are a classic of our age and I think everyone have seen them for at least once. But today Family Guy is much more funny than The Simpsons, or another of the series you mention in this thread. So Family Guy!

but if basing off new seasons then simpsons is one of the worst animated shows out there these days

Damn, it's a tough one between Family Guy and American Dad. Mmmm I would choose American Dad. Speaking of which when the freak are we getting new episodes for American dad, Family Guy and South Park?

Not to be bashing on the OP or the thread as a whole but you really can't compare the series. In my opinion, it's like comparing Prison Break and Lost just because of the simple fact they both are labelled "Drama/Thriller". Two very different series that are both well crafted but just can't be compared analogically.

To answer the question I would have to say the The Simpsons is always number one even though I tend to enjoy Family Guy more. Quality is basically the amounts of laughs/minute for me and cult or nostalgia is greater than quality when it comes to these things.
