Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
Hi,
I just wanted to know which media player you recommend?
I am currently using WMP but I can tranfer songs to iPod with it.
I want to manage my iPod too with it. are there any?. I know that with iTunes or winamp, you can transfer song to your iPod but any other media player support iPod too?
I prefer if it's lightweight and does not require too much resource. like RAM or your hardisk

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
vlc: www.videolan.org/vlc This video player will play anything you throw at it. It does not play realplayer, but I try to avoid that format.
Winamp/Foobar2000: www.winamp.com www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=winamp www.foobar2000.org These audio players make most people happy. Usually, I use an old version of winamp, 2.95, because it does everything I need it to do without the bloat. Some people seem to be happy with 2.81. Foobar has some useful plugins for ipod management..

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
i recommend media player classic it handles all formats including real, quicktime, h264, matroska and others- with the correct codecs. i also like foobar because of this skin. but the thing is mpc is so small and tidy so thats why i recommend it.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
kmplayer or GNU mplayer or VLC

Ya I hate when you switch to a different player and all the associations get fucked up so I just use win classic but PowerDvd for watching my dvd's .

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
Give ol itunes a shot or if you want to try an opensource alternative try songbird (songbirdnest.com) Did mediamonkey recognize your ipod? You could try rockbox-ing (rockbox.org) your ipod, but make sure you have the right ipod! This will make it drag-n-drop and does other useful items. It will drain your battery more rapidly though.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
I use Zoom Player (Home Max) for mkv & WMV files and VLC for everything else has far as video. For audio I use Xion (With custom skins).

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
Tried out KM media player after seeing this and I must say VLC runs much smoother on my(slightly antiquated) system.
Sticking with VLC, and will recommend you use that.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
I use KMPlayer. Since it's the only one that will run .mkv's(720p) on my computer without any stuttering or audio sync issues. Well...that's on the Windows side. Now that I have Linux maybe other players will be able to play .mkv's without issue. I'll have test MPlayer, VLC, etc.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
I use the K-Lite Code Pack and it works great. Having no problems at all with playing HD material. VLC works also pretty good too and I use it sometimes aswell.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
I Use Neuview Professional for all 720p mkv files and where possible watching footy streaming, or BsPlayer if Neuview won't play stream.
Don't need to do this if watching directly on my laptop but if watching through TV the Neuview allows me to control the brightness and contrast of picture showing on the TV.
Which no other player can do that I have found (will probably be proved wrong) as I was always having problems with White and Reds being way to bright when watching 720p mkv programmes on my Sony TV and couldn't really affect picture control through Sony's own control panel. But this has solved it nicely.

Re: Hi, Which media player do you all recommend?
Most definitely VLC. It can pretty much play any file type that you may have video-wise. For music, it depends on preferences more than anything else.
