its not really a lounge this, i was asking veiws about the forum, thus i think it would belong in here.?
honestly, my sig is within the limits
you just need to look hard enough....:P
MY list starts off with livy how about everyone else. Why would u want to shame someone for that anyway everybody makes mistakes. I guess u were just bored and needed to post something.
I was only jesting with you. ;)Quote:

Personally i wouldn't bother naming and shaming anyone.
im not on about one off, im on about ones that keep doing things, like if there told there sig is3 times over the limit, go way to far taking the piss etc, continually spamming posts with useless info. etc.Quote:

oh well, didnt take long for it to get here. :(
But what is shaming them going to do what is it going to acheive.
And how do you judge what is useless, maybe they think they're helping.Quote:

There's no point in passing judgement on each other.
That's what mods are for. :)
Should not the mods be passing judgement on the rest of us rather than between each other? :D
Arrgh, someone hit me with.......gasp.....SEMANTICS
IMO:
First of all, consistent offenders of stupid posts and/or posts in wrong sections should be PMed by a MOD and warned, then if they continue, futher action should be taken (e.g. temporary or permanent ban).
MODs should be notified of such users (where appropriate) with evidence (links etc) and then the MOD will make the decision as to whether or not its necessary to warn the offender.
Opinions of other forum users should be kept to yourself unless you think they are affecting the forum in a bad way. If this is the case, a PM to a MOD (as mentioned above) will help the situation, instead of causing more trouble than it's worth with a name-and-shame list :).
You saying regulars don't notify the mods already? :blink:Quote:

Nah I'm just saying that this is the best alternative rather than naming and shaming them in this (or other) threads
I'm all in favour of awarding something( ;) ) to those who insist on posting in the wrong place. There are a few who could regularly appear in the board stats if we had this feature.
Thanks for posting this, l_p_4_7; it's exactly how the Mod team thinks about it. :DQuote:

Besides that: we see this thing called Warning Level under each user who posts, which we raise or lower when appropriate, giving us the possibility to keep a list of everything he or she did 'wrong'.
If the level gets too high, and usual after some warnings by PM, we can put him or her on moderation. ;)
Why can't we see the warning level like on the soulseek boards??Quote:

Isn't there already a thread for this (Report Anything Unusual Here [part 2]), in which case hasn't this thread now gone full circle? If so, perhaps it should be moved to About our website and this Forum, which is where I believe it started.
Edit: typo

That's a good idea, then we could pick the people who are on the verge of getting a temporary or permanent ban, and try to provoke them into going over the top. <_<
THIS ISN'T SOULSEEK.

Why not just have some sort of award,"best poster", "stupidist poster" "craziest poster" of the year, month, week, or something? ;)
Thanks for posting this, l_p_4_7; it's exactly how the Mod team thinks about it. :DQuote:

But wouldn't FC just dominate all those awards continuously? :huh:Quote:

How can we find out our own level on that 'Warning Level' ?
Do something deserving a warning and you'll recieve your status. :D
I don't know about others, but if I adjust somebody's warning level, they get a PM notifying them of the violation or problem. And unless it's a behavioral incident, I'll lower the level when it is resolved.Quote:

I would love to see that - Poll maybe ?
Warning Level Indicator Visible or Not Visible.
Do I get a warning for posting this suggestion ?
You are already banned JPaul. ;)
You know we only have silly polls in the lounge!
